Meet Ariadni Kidonis

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ariadni Kidonis.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Ariadni. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Little kids sing and hum melodies even before they can speak or read, I am no different. My name is Ariadni Kidonis, and this is my story.

Music has always been something more than just entertainment for me, it was freedom, it was passion, and I managed to instantly connect with it. I never really realized that I would ever consider singing seriously until my 12th birthday when my parents bought me a birthday present. Yes, it was a microphone. Shortly after, I recorded a short cover and uploaded it to YouTube, which was immensely loved and appreciated by thousands of people who started sharing it and encouraging me to just go at it all out. With all the immense support from my family, friends, and followers, I started performing professionally while I was still in high school.

Quickly realizing, as unfortunate as it might be, that opportunities were hard to come by back home. I consulted my family with the proposal to move to LA. What better place than the entertainment capital of the world to try and give it a shot.

At 14 years of age, my family and I set foot in LA. It was a culture surprise and a pleasant one at that. I instantly fell in love with the place and realized why they call this country the land of opportunity. Not long after we landed, I met with a director who happens to be working at MTV and also a manager from Disney Channel. Upon learning that I sing, dance and act, the director showed interest in working with me. The catch being, I would have to move to Argentina as that’s where Disney Latino was located. Not wanting to move to Argentina, and realizing the potential to make really valuable contacts, considering all this happened in just a span of three weeks, I decided to completely move out here.

Of course, my family instantly agreed and were very supportive towards my decision, I finished high school faster than usual, graduated and moved to LA to chase my dream. At the age of 15, I enrolled myself in singing and performing course at MI, and continued studying at MI till I turned 18, finishing up with an Audio Engineering certificate and got the Outstanding Final Project Award. With the new found abilities and knowledge I built my home studio.

During my stay in LA, I have had amazing opportunities of working alongside some of the industries more successful people like, Alexei Misoul (BMI Award winner), Mikal Reid (Alice Cooper, Ben Harper, Kenny Wayne Sheppard, Mick Jagger, Aerosmith), Andres Torres (Latin Grammy for his work with Alejandro Sanz, La Santa Cecilia, David Bisbal, Noel Schajris, Jesse & Joy, etc.), etc. It is my absolute pleasure to have written and co-produced a record for BMG music production at the legendary, Sunset sound records.

Also, I can proudly say that I am a worship leader at my church, Advanced Anointing, a little something to show my appreciation for all the things I have been blessed with.

Currently, I am working on my upcoming EP, and I am really excited for it and looking forward to put it out for everyone and introduce myself as an artist to the world.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not at all. It’s been hard. I’ve been living here all by myself for a while since I was really young, and after a while, I know now that not everyone is your friend, not everyone has got your back in this city, so you gotta be careful and watch out. But I’m so thankful for the real people I have around, they are all one call away, unconditional friends and also really successful in their careers, we are always supporting each other. I would say it hasn’t been a smooth road, but it was all worth it, I wouldn’t have accomplished everything I have if it wouldn’t be for this. I wouldn’t be who I am if it wouldn’t be for this.

We’d love to hear more about what you do.
I am a singer-songwriter, producer and a certified Audio Engineer. I sing and write in English and Spanish. I think what sets me apart from the others is being a top line writer who can mix influences of different genres in a song. When I work with other people, I always get the essence of the artist for really making that song their own. I always come up with new ideas for the production or the vocals no matter where I am.

I usually have my phone on me for recording those ideas right on the spot. Also about my voice, people say that it truly makes them feel empathy with the songs and that my timber is really sweet but strong at the same time. I also model, act and dance, I think those are good skills for an artist to have.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
One of the proudest moments of my career has been writing, singing and co-producing a whole record for BMG Music Production at Sunset Sound Records while still being only 18 years old. That makes me believe I can get even further through the years.
