Today we’d like to introduce you to Anthony Volz.
Anthony, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Since I was a kid, I knew I wanted to be an artist, spending hours with my brother drawing castles and knights. I have always been fond of landscapes and carry that over into my art. I got to where I am now on my own fruition, over the years I received plenty of criticism about my chosen path, however I stuck with it. It is not easy, but nothing in life is easy, and I plan on making it.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The first thing I am asked about my career choice Is often always some form of “what will you do with that” and you can imagine what it feels like to have someone question your lifestyle.
Discovering your own style and finding what you want to do can be hard and everyone has struggled with it. I found it especially difficult when professors would call my work Kitsch and unique. However, I make my art for me, and that is all I need to continue.
Please tell us more about your art.
Well, I produce art, mostly painting, physically and digitally. I specialist in landscape paintings that capture grandiose scenes of nature, sometimes contrasted with harsh angles and tall mountains. I am most proud of producing art in general, sticking to it, and making it part of my life.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I feel successful with art when I make something I enjoy. There isn’t much to it for me, but this also helps me keep going, as well as making art.
