Meet Anthony Sandoval of SoCal Homes in Los Angeles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anthony Sandoval.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
As a first generation Latino, born and raised in South L.A., I had finally realized my goal and parent’s dream to be the first in our family to graduate college. I was in a great paying job and I soon came to a point in my life in my 30s where I asked myself, what’s next for me and can I take my life to the next level as an entrepreneur in real estate?? So, I started looking for seminars and self-study courses to do it right the first time and not attempt to trial and error this new venture in life. My main goal and aspiration to do all this was to retire my parents and buy them the house of their dreams before doing anything for myself. That has been my why since day one of my journey. We grew and scaled fast in these short three years and our team has come to manage a real estate portfolio of projects and holdings nearing 10M.

Has it been a smooth road?
Being an entrepreneur has not been a smooth road at all, to say the least. Many business and life lessons have been learned along the way. Raising capital for new projects and developments is an art and dynamic process that never stops. Having investors believe in you and your product while producing results is paramount. In a way, I’ve learned a lot more about myself than I did ten years ago and my experiences these last three years in business have humbled me immensely. The highs and lows will test you in many ways.

We’d love to hear more about your work.
Our company SoCal Homes is a boutique real estate investment firm that specializes in buying distressed homes for cash and renovating them to sell for profit. We also develop and build homes from the ground up and we do some wholesaling along with buy & holds. Our main focus is to buy these unwanted properties from distressed sellers as fast as possible for top dollar while still meeting our buying criteria and investment goals. We are known for executing the most stylish rehabs and unloading them for top dollar. We don’t cut corners, our team of general contractors, project managers, and designers take pride in their work and I feel that is what sets us apart. We go the extra mile.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
I definitely feel our city is a great place for business, it has plenty of real estate inventory along with willing buyers. California holds the 5th largest economy in the world and Los Angeles has a lot to do with that as a major metropolitan hub. Major growth doesn’t come with its challenges, we are losing many businesses to other states like Texas as they incentivize entrepreneurs with less taxes and low start-up costs for businesses. It’s quite expensive to conduct business in California and I think better legislation and new measures to keep costs low will help keep businesses local to SoCal.
