Meet Anthony Minero of Row House in Granada Hills

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anthony Minero.

Anthony, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Richard and I have been running multiple businesses and consulting small to mid-size companies together for the past 8-10 years and individually for many years prior to working together. As experts in improving operations and the bottom line we decided it was time to venture out and take a shot at running our own businesses. After searching for about eight months we landed on the Row House. We instantly fell in love with the brand and the concept and knew this was a winner from day one. After 6-8 months of searching for the ideal location we landed on Granada Hills and could not be happier with this community. Everyone has been so welcoming from our members to surrounding businesses, and we are grateful to have found such an amazing place to call our home.

Row House is run by our General Manager, Trevor Banegas, who is a longtime fitness industry professional. Trevor is also a certified personal trainer who has been training clients for eight years and is a big advocate for the rowing machine as an optimal workout for his clients, regardless of their fitness level. Like Richard and I, Banegas is passionate about what Row House offers as a fitness solution to the amazing the Granada Hills community.

“Row House provides the opportunity to participate in a boutique fitness class that no matter what physical fitness level a person is at, what is put into the workout is what they get out of it,” said Banegas. “In any given class, there can be a 70 years old rowing next to a 23 years old and they are both going to get a great workout that will protect their bodies and improve their health.”

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The main struggle has been construction in obtaining permits and inspections. Took three months longer than expected and our founding members that joined before we opened were getting antsy. We held pop ups in the park and sent out updates to ensure they knew we were still there 🙂 Luckily for us they were extremely patient and understanding of the delays and ultimately they have been very happy with the result. Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
I don’t know if I have a favorite but I do have fond memories of playing many sports growing up. Baseball was my main focus and I still get reminded of those days every time I smell freshly cut grass, or a watered down infield. I have always been active and have tried many fitness solutions. I realize that I am a bit bias in my thinking now 🙂 but this new venture has led to a new appreciation not only of rowing but also of the boutique fitness concept. Taking classes with motivated and knowledgeable coaches and being welcomed by an amazing staff has increased my personal motivation and as a result I am in the best shape I have ever been in. And I am hearing many similar stores from our members.
