Meet Anne Kim of LA Socials Digital Marketing Agency

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anne Kim.

Hi Anne, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started LA Socials as an Events Production company that focused primarily on corporate events, weddings, and all things social. I loved planning gatherings, social mixers, and networking events for fun – always aiming to connect people. As I increasingly began to work with restaurants and different venues to host these events, they began asking me to help them with their marketing.

I began learning the intricacies of digital marketing for businesses by dissecting how the big brands were building their audience. I studied everything from the most successful brands to the innocuous brands that were often overlooked and compared the two. What were they doing differently? Of course, budgeting is a key difference but there has never been a more level playing field quite like this moment in history.

What used to be these unscalable walls that created a barrier of entry for companies wanting to enter a new market suddenly crumbled. Businesses no longer depend on the large publishing houses to communicate their message. With social media platforms anyone can have a voice.

And “the person with the best story wins.” This applies not only to Hollywood blockbusters, TV commercials, and books but also to sharing your business with others. People are drawn to stories because they’re engaging and captivating. We work with our clients to tell their story. Are they building trust? What’s their motivation in moving forward? If the why is not big enough, it won’t get them through the why not.

I also apply my technical knowledge of various platforms through certifications and cost comparisons, saving clients countless hours and marketing dollars spent doing their own research through trial and error.

As an entrepreneur, I have a heart for business owners. And my job at LA Socials Agency is to help build businesses. I know the grit, relentless optimism and tireless hours that go into building a brand and I love taking my clients through this journey in a more effective and valuable way.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Business is never a dull moment, but rather like being on a roller coaster. Entrepreneurs are addicted to the thrill of it and wouldn’t have it any other way. Some of the struggles include this unexpected pandemic that has hit the global economy on an unprecedented scale. Businesses have had to pivot and find creative ways to increase their revenue streams. Restaurants for example relied heavily on online ordering and creating drive-through or walk-up options as well as outdoor dining for their different locations.

I help my clients stay ahead of the curve and come up with creative, out-of-the box solutions that allow them to adapt to a consistently changing environment.

I believe in divine appointments, such as when you encounter people or businesses to which you can add value and vice versa. A large part of that is building relationships by learning about people. Behind most small and medium-sized businesses are individuals with their own stories. Stories of how they started the business, what got them there and what keeps them going (very much like your publication). The more you connect and build relationships, you’ll find increasing ways to work together and create fruitful partnerships.
