Meet Angela Yu of Eutonic School of Music in Lake Forest

Today we’d like to introduce you to Angela Yu.

Angela, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I was an employee in a Music school which mainly hired H1 based musicians to teach music. The pay is way below the market and the boss is bossy and rude to teachers. It happened that my graduate friends who lives in OC reconnected with me, and we had the same vision and goal for music education. And we did it in summer of 2007. Eutonic School of Music was formed to “Enhance musicianship, uncover abilities.”

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The obstacles are more about personal issues. No assistant or new inexperienced assistant for scheduling, Parents without paying tuition or late payments, Teacher’s late or no show.

Through those problems, we found a pretty well-rounded solution for it and create our hand book. But marketing is costly and not effective was a big problem too. End up, we signed up with Groupon and Living Social and it did bring us basic crowds to create Eutonic Music in Lake Forest now.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Eutonic School of Music – what should we know?
Eutonic Music is a Music School which wants to make music learning effective. Learning itself is not just for fun, we teach our students basic techniques, (reading, counting, and coordination) time management, practice disciplines, and stage performance presentation. All of those to make students aware of their strength and weakness and become a confident self being.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
I have to thank my current assistant who herself is a vocalist. She appreciated Music and know how to effectively to spread our idea to parents. Also, all our parents and students. They trust us and give us 100% support no matter in guidance of children’s disciplines or behavior.
