Meet Anessa Sanchez of Savor Organico in Northridge

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anessa Sanchez.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Anessa. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I have been passionate about cooking since I was a little girl. My first recollection of cooking was when I was 3 and loved to help my grandma in the kitchen, it became natural to cook everyday in the kitchen since then. I decided as an adult that my passion is what I wanted to chase as a career and then enrolled in Le Cordon Bleu culinary Arts. This was the best decision I have ever made. Once I was in culinary school I started working in the catering industry to gain some professional knowledge. Once I graduated from culinary school I started working as a chef at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel & Suites that’s when I started Savor Organico Private Chef/Catering and worked at both. I worked at the Westin for three years before I said goodbye and decided to work full time at Savor Organico. It was a hard decision to leave a secure job but owning your own business is so much more rewarding.

Has it been a smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road. There have been a lot of blood, sweat, and tears along the way but I can honestly say all those bumps has shaped me to be a better chef and business owner. Being a woman in a male dominating industry and also being a minority business owner does have it’s ups and downs but at the end of the day it’s all been worth it because I am chasing my dream. At the end of the day, it’s something I built from the bottom and I am working my way up to have an amazing and successful business.

Savor Organico is a latin catering company and we specialize in fresh latin cuisine with a little influence from Cuba. One of your most popular dishes are Chicken Stuffed Potato Balls, Guava & Cheese puff pastry, Roasted Garlic Pork, Sex in a cup, Garlic Roasted Chicken, Chicken Empanadas just to name a few. I am proud that Savor Organico takes the time and gives every dish we make with Love. Flavor takes time and love and that’s what we pride our selfs in. All of our food is made fresh and with love. We also try to incorporate as much healthy dishes and healthy ways of cooking but still keep the authentic flavor. What sets up apart from others is each customer is treated #1. We pride ourselves in customer service and to provide the best food and experience for each client.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Yes, I do think Los Angeles is a great place for any food business since we are a multi-cultural city people are open to trying many different styles of foods. I love that we have many different food events throughout the year for people to explore many parts of the world but yet still stay in their own city.
