Today we’d like to introduce you to Anesha Clarke.
Hi Anesha, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My journey started after graduating from Penn State University and moving nearly 3,000 miles away to California. Coming from a big city like New York, moving to LA has always been a dream of mine. I’ve always been a motivated person to push and reach for anything on your goal list. After receiving a bachelor’s in Psychology, even with ambition I still had no real game plan on MY life’s soul purpose, however, I knew I was willing to take a risk and do something I always wanted to do. Moving to LA and currently living here for five years has been one of the most challenging but self-fulfilling and exhilarating experiences thus far. I’ve worked many jobs searching for what I’m most passionate about and the Beauty/skin care industry stuck out the most as it also personally helped me too. Prior to Covid-19 I was interested in gaining a hobby that could potentially bring in more financial stability. What started out as a hobby turned into a passion as I continuously saw the positive impact I can have on others. Being a lash technician has made my clients embrace their outer beauty as well as enhance their self-esteem and confidence. As time went on during Covid, my hobby of being a lash tech turned into a full time career.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My journey definitely has not been a smooth road. Although I wanted to carryout my LA living dream, I had to leave behind my loving and supportive family and friends. I am very family oriented but also dreamed of leaving a legacy my family and I would be proud of. During my first year in LA I received a devastating call that my father had passed away. This news for a daddy’s girl is super heart breaking! During that grieving period I experienced every depressive emotion you could think of. Gratefully, I was blessed with a supportive circle however if you’ve ever experienced losing a parent you know that healing journey started within you. Within the following two years after I also unfortunately lost both my grandparents whom I absolutely adored! The loss of my loved ones have definitely set me back mentally & physically as it played such a big impact on my world. Losing a loved one can definitely play a major role within your mental health. These circumstances propelled me into the vision behind my brand ClassiFYEd (“Finding Your Empowerment”). Although I had a support system I found it more empowering and healing to try and find my way back, with the grace of God, to truly relearn myself and what I desired out of life. As we all may know true happiness starts from within; therefore even with a supportive circle no one is responsible for your true happiness besides yourself. Going through this journey while living in LA was definitely a catalyst to me wanting to help spread genuine love and support to others. You may not know what others are going through and just looking for a little inspiration to keep them going.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I’m an adventurous person that happens to be a risk taker. I enjoy taking risks as I personally don’t like the feeling of being stagnant in life. Moving to California was definitely a big risk. Even though I had a home, my family and could’ve been living rent free *haha*, finding my independence was very important to me. I also took another risk giving up on my unfulfilling 9-5 job to pursue my career & passions as life is short and finding your true happiness is important. This was the start to advocating following your hearts passion to be unapologetically YOU and self-fulfilled!
