Meet Aneesh Chaudhry of SoulPhysio Lifestyle

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aneesh Chaudhry.

Hi Aneesh, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I grew up in the small town of Beavercreek, OH to a very loving family. My childhood consisted of playing sports with friends, traveling the world, sleepovers with friends, and amazing home-cooked food. On the surface, it seemed like a picture-perfect childhood. On the inside, I felt a deep sense of emptiness that progressed into Mental Illness and Addiction issues by the time I got to high school. I tried conventional treatments focused on these issues including talk therapy, medication, and a variety of rehabilitation programs. These programs still left me feeling empty and resorting to unhealthy habits in order to cope with the stresses of day to day life. My darkest days left me feeling suicidal in my late teens all the way into my early twenties. My turning point came in 2013 when I got my brain scanned at the Amen Clinics. This experience showed me that my life does not have to be defined by my diagnosis and that I could heal my brain by living a healthy lifestyle. This set me on a journey of learning about the brain and working to implement the knowledge I learned in my own life to help heal my brain. I graduated in 2016 with my Bachelor’s Degree in Neuropsychology, in addition to completing a handful of different certifications on topics including Nutrition, Yoga, Meditation, Genetics, and Exercise. I combined all my knowledge I learned in school in addition to my personal experiences to create a unique system of healing that combines the ancient wisdom of Eastern Medicine along with cutting edge science of Western Medicine to optimize brain function. The primary population we work with are children struggling from Mental and Neurological Illness. I currently own two clinics in Orange County (Newport Beach and Irvine) and am in the process of opening up my 3rd clinic in Orlando, FL. I am also pursuing my PhD in Physiology and Health.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has been a road filled with ups and downs, but I would not have it any other way! In my teens, I was diagnosed with Anxiety, Depression, and Bipolar Disorder. These various disorders led me to feeling hopeless and suicidal for a few years. The doctors told me I was going to be on medication for the rest of my life if I wanted to be a functioning member of society. This was a very hard pill for me to swallow… both physically and mentally. I went on a high dose of several different medications for a number of years hoping for some relief, and I experienced significant side effects. This was confusing and discouraging for me to go through because I was counting on the doctor’s recommendations to be the solution to my mental health. I went off all medications back in 2018 as a result of all the changes I made to my life that helped to bring my brain back into a state of balance.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
SoulPhysio Lifestyle is an Integrative Healthcare Company based out of Irvine, CA focused on helping children struggling with Mental and Neurological Illness. We combine the ancient wisdom of Eastern Medicine along with the cutting edge science of Western Medicine to help address the root causes of illness. The children we treat are typically between the ages of 7-14 and have been diagnosed with Autism, ADD/ADHD, Depression, Anxiety, ODD, and other similar conditions. We evaluate the function of their brain and put together a program using natural solutions like nutrition, yoga, meditation, exercise, and other therapies we offer on-site at our clinic to restore balance to the mind, body, and spirit. We also have a nonprofit arm of the business, called The SoulPhysio Foundation, that is focused on making these solutions available to underprivileged families in low-income areas. What truly sets us apart is the fact that we care deeply for the clients we work with and are passionate about sharing education and resources that can help improve quality of life for children that struggle with Mental and Neurological Illness.

How do you think about happiness?
I believe that happiness begins with loving yourself unconditionally. This has been an uphill battle in my life to come to a place where I am happy with who I have become and all I am working towards in my life. What really makes me happy is working towards my passion day in and day out: which is helping others on their path to being healthy, especially children. Finding my purpose in life has been my biggest blessing because it gives me a reason to wake up out of bed every morning prepared to tackle whatever challenges life throws at me!
