Meet Andy “Peanut” Charles Sr of NoDeadBeatDads

Today we’d like to introduce you to Andy “Peanut” Charles Sr.

Andy “Peanut”, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Started NoDeadBeatDads in June of 2013, saw a post a lady bashing her son’s father. God gave me a vision right then and there, I said why can’t guys who take care of their kid(s) get more attention. Took a look at the world we live in and realize fatherhood isn’t as important to America or around the world as it should be. Realized that there are a lot of great fathers but they never get their Roses while they are here.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Smooth road absolutely not, challenges that I’ve faced getting bashed because someone feels like a male should be recognized as a NoDeadBeatDads❗️ Struggled to raise money for back to school events, struggled to raise money for the annual scholarship that a student receives every year. Struggle and not understanding why the business isn’t bigger than what it is now. Struggled in planning Annual Bowling Event.

NoDeadBeatDads – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
NoDeadBeatDads is about empowering fathers to continue leading by example for their kid(s), letting the world know fathers are just as important as mothers. Annually a scholarship is given to a well-deserving student; Annual Back to School event; speak to the younger generation about the importance of having a child and the difficulties that come with it. Speaking life into fathers that are good dads to become great, speaking life into an absent father and showing him how important it is for you to stand in the paint for your kid(s).

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Proudest moment for me is when a guy called me and thanked me, I was a little lost because I didn’t know what he was thanking me for. His words were, man bro you don’t understand me purchasing the NoDeadBeatDads shirt made me step up and made me realize how important my kids are to me. I’ll never forget that conversation.
