Meet Andreanna Liguore of Bettolino Kitchen in Redondo Beach

Today we’d like to introduce you to Andreanna Liguore.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Andreanna. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I was born into a food family. My great grandparents started Giuliano’s Deli in Gardena in 1952. At one point, Giuliano’s grew to 13 locations in the south bay. My dad grew up in the business and had the urge to open his own. In 1993, when I was 8, my parent’s opened Gaetano’s. Gaetano’s quickly became my second home, I spent more time there than anywhere else. When I invited friends over, they would come to the restaurant and not to my house. My brother and I were the crazy kids running around wreaking havoc but also absorbing all the valuable business lessons that are only passed down and not taught in schools. Unfortunately, my dad passed away a year after Gaetanos opened, but luckily my mom grew up in a restaurant family as well and she came through and kept the business thriving. My brother, husband and I took over the Gaetano’s in 2010. It has always been a dream of ours to open a newer, more modern Italian restaurant and when the location became available we knew we had to jump on it. We opened Bettolino Kitchen in 2015 and now continue to run and maintain both businesses. My daughter, Giuliana, was born in December of 2016 and I was lucky enough to be able to work from home for the first 4 months of her life. Since then, I am back 4 days a week and am happy to carry on the tradition in my family as I tote her along with me and she grows up in the business.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
We are so lucky to have a strong family always backing us. When my dad died a year into opening Gaetano’s, several of our family members stepped in to help out at the restaurant in their spare time.

Bettolino Kitchen is a modern Italian restaurant with a huge emphasis on quality ingredients and great service. We use organic meats and local produce and our history in the south bay restaurant industry sets us aside from your average restaurant.
