Meet Amir Habibabadi of Amorph in Gardena

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amir Habibabadi.

Amir Habibabadi received a Master of Design Research Studies from Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI Arc) in Los Angeles. He was engaged in research on new technologies and materials in architecture and investigation on the different possibilities in robotic fabrication and production in Architecture. Amir’s father was an antique collector and he was internationally recognized for his knowledge on different period of arts and antiques. He has grown up in an environment that arts and antiques was part of his family life. During his childhood, Amir was always contributing with his father in all antique exhibitions and the shows. He instantly has learned about historic ornaments in furniture and art works. Soon after, when he finished his Mater of Architecture in Europe, he started working in different countries as an architect. He was involved working with well-known architects.

He intrigued by use of digital technology in Architecture. Afterward, he decided to do farther education related to the subject and self-improvement in more knowledge of computer programs relevant to the artist and research more about digital technology and fabrication. He selected SCI Arc as a well reputable school in a field where he received Master of Design in robotic fabrication. Amir has neatly applied his diverse background into his work. Amir’s perception is to infuse function into the amorphous geometry. His body of work more focused on the amorphous geometries and the challenge of manufacturing formless geometries. His work encompasses a wide range of narrative storytelling, complex geometry, inimitable and infrequent look.
