Meet Amanda and Stacia of Astra Creative Co. in Santa Clarita

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda and Stacia.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Amanda and Stacia. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
We’re a small family business that pulls together continents and cultures. Arunas and Arturas are brothers from Lithuania, whereas me (Amanda) and Stacia are from the States and get to be BFFs-in-law. Originally, Astra Creative Co. was born out of our love for storytelling! We decided to merge our passions and cultivated skills in videography, photography, writing, graphic design, and web design in order to capture life’s stories. We wanted to champion brands and the people behind them in order to merge the gap between people with impactful services/products and those in need of them. We began slowly: learning new skills, refining them, and picking up as many small projects as possible- often free of charge in the beginning. From that, we met remarkable people full of missions, visions, and ideas about how to impact our community and world for the better. As our skills and cliental base expanded, we invested in new gear, allowing us to continue expanding in new and exciting ways, and we haven’t stopped since!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
While each of us would have loved to jump into Astra Creative Co. full time, we wrestled with knowing how costly California living expenses are and how unpredictable incoming projects can be when a new business is starting out. Because of that, most of us chose to maintain part or full-time jobs while building our business. At times, this was a struggle, as we often returned home from work only to continue even more work. Though it was for projects we loved and looked forward to, the balance between work and burn-out sometimes proved hard to navigate. Given the security this route provided, we’re thankful for how it played out. It gave us the opportunity to learn about self-care and be mindful of our mental and physical health and capacities! This in turn has allowed for new areas of self-growth and awareness. It has also shown us how to support one another through stress and become a more unified team!

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Astra Creative Co. story. Tell us more about the business.
We’re a team that combines design, writing, video production, web development, photography, sass, and humor to curate an open exchange of creative ideas in order to work towards our clients’ success. While we’re known for this diverse skillset, we seem to be best known for bringing a sense of family into our client interactions. Our clients are our partners, and our hope is that together, we’ll make an awesome team. That’s why we pour into nourishing those relationships and operate out of the mindset: if we can dream together, and communicate those dreams in a constructive way, we can succeed together. We’re proud of being known for this, as it reinforces a strong belief that all of us hold: we don’t “do business,” we love people. We love them through our passions and talents, our time and sense of family, and try to uplift them with the unique skillset we have. We feel this focus separates us from others!

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
One could definitely attribute luck to all of us meeting and eventually winding up in LA from different states and countries. But our stories of love, family, and friendship are for a different time! For now, suffice it to say, we’re entirely grateful for the luck that was involved in bringing us all to this beautiful place: being in a city bursting with creative genius, fellow creatives, and constant opportunities for collaboration, growth, and ideation is a truly wonderful thing, and we’re so thankful to be a part of it! We think that it is truly vital to be surrounded by dozens of vibrant and even opposing ideas as you develop creatively. The ability to work within the tension and cultivate a unique voice against the mural of a broader artistic community only makes each and every one of us better and more beautiful at what we love.
