Today we’d like to introduce you to Alyson Fox.
Alyson, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
In 1997 my Mother, Diane Levine, and I started Levine Fox Events. Diane had been in the business for approximately 5 years running another company, and I always had a passion for designing, creating and organizing events for friends and acquaintances. With the support of many friends in the industry who believed in our abilities and dedication, we decided to go out on our own.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Starting a company from the ground up is always challenging because you have a reputation to build at the same time. When we began, we were fortunate that friends in the industry who believed in us introduced us to potential new clients. We were also lucky to meet wonderful people who were willing to take a chance on a new company and allow us the opportunity to prove ourselves.
Our business is not only about talent, organization, and attention to detail, but about relationships. Over the years, we have built many relationships with clients who have trusted us with the most important celebrations in their lives. It took some time to build our portfolio but thanks to many repeat clients and their referrals, in just a few short years, we were off and running.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
Levine Fox Events is a full-service boutique event planning company that has been in business for over 20 years.
Three years ago, Diane retired and Alyson took over the company in its entirety. We are highly respected within the event community and are well known for our creativity, versatility and attention to detail. We create everything from weddings and intimate parties to lavish local and destination events.
LFE is dedicated to our clients and offer a high level of personalized service. We have planned events for celebrities and non-celebrities alike, but work with the same degree of enthusiasm, dedication and passion for all of our clients.
We take great pride in putting our whole heart into everything that we produce, getting to know our clients on a personal level so that we’re able to create events that reflect the essence of who they are.
What sets us apart is that we are a boutique event planning company, and therefore take on fewer clients at a time, which allows us to focus all of our attention on each project.
What were you like growing up?
I am the only child of parents who are also both only children. Because of this, I learned at an early age to be extremely independent and determined. Growing up around two working parents taught me that drive and ambition will help me accomplish anything I put my mind to. Before entering the world of event planning, my mother was an interior designer and I was often by her side. While working with clients, she would ask my thoughts and opinions on fabrics, furniture, layouts, etc. – helping to grow the design esthetic I have today.
In high school, I began planning events for the school as well as for friends. Designing and executing small parties was like second nature to me and I loved it. I was fortunate to fall into what turned out to truly be the perfect profession for me.
Now as a single mother of a beautiful college-bound daughter, I try to be a strong role model for her. She sees the passion, determination and hard work that I put into my career as well as the relationships I build with my clients. This business is built on relationships, not just talent and organization. I feel so lucky to have grown my business into what it is today and I look forward to creating magic for my clients now and in the future. I truly love what I do!
