Today we’d like to introduce you to Aljenon Cooper.
So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
My story begins with me being given up at birth by my biological mother because of the strong influence of drugs in her life at that particular time. Growing up, I didn’t understand why I had to be the one adopted and given up. Why I felt as I was treated differently than my natural sisters and brothers; or, why I had to experience broken promises from my biological mother. Many nights I waited by the door, I would call and not get an answer, or I would have a dream and wake up to my pillow being wet with tears.
As God would have it, at the age of 4 days old, God placed me in the home of a praying woman, who would love me as her own and treat me like a prince, and surrounded me by a family that would love and accept me. I didn’t understand it growing up, but I later learned that it was necessary for me to go (grow) through what I went through. If I hadn’t been given up and adopted, I probably wouldn’t know God like I do and wouldn’t be where I am today. David said it best, “it was good for me that I was afflicted that I might learn your statues.” I am a witness to the fact that sometimes you are better off with some people’s absence than you would be by their presence. The hand of God was active in my life at an early age. As much as I loved God, felt his call upon my life, and a testament to the great lengths he will go through to position you to hear his voice; I ran from that calling. I didn’t believe that God could use me in the capacity that I had seen others being used in because my last name wasn’t tied to anyone in great position within the church. Therefore, I did things that I thought would disqualify me from being who God had chosen. Upon surrendering totally to the call of God upon my life. God began to blow my mind. Doors began to open on every level of our denomination, from the local to the international church. God has allowed me to transcend denominational barriers.

With a powerful preaching style, prevailing mantle of prayer, and uncanny leadership skills being seamlessly stitched together to permit this ministry gift to succeed in any area of life. I have been employed with Go Rentals for five years and within those five years, I have had five promotions. I started as a driver/detailer and now am Area Manager overseeing Los Angeles and Santa Monica. I also have a positive message t-shirt business. It is nothing but the favor of God that has blessed me to be where I am today.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The road has not always been smooth. I am a firm believer that everything won’t always be good, but it will work for our good. Some of the struggles I have faced: overcoming rejection, being given up, adopted, being raised by a single mother from the age of 5 on up, and learning to give up my right to hurt in order to receive my healing and wholeness.
Please tell us about ADLC Ministries.
ADLC Ministries began 16 years ago. Our focus is to assist youth with life skills and resources for a successful future. I am an itinerate preacher and national evangelist who’s desire is to change the world through messages of hope, deliverance, and purpose. I am most proud of all of our ministry endeavors, our weekly prayer call, annual prayer gatherings, and our community involvement. We have launched a few initiatives that have been a major success; our cover me initiative that provides clothing, socks and blankets for the homeless during winter months; our I’ve got your back initiative that provides backpacks and school supplies for youth returning to school. I believe if there is anything that would set me apart from others in ministry or business, I have a heart for the people and I genuinely want to be used of God to fulfill his assignment for me in the earth.
Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
My mother Mildred Cooper, she’s been my biggest supporter and encourager since day 4. She sacrificed her life by answering the phone call and coming to the hospital to pick me up and bringing me into her home. I have had too many who have invested and deposited seeds into my life at a young age that have helped me to become the man I am today. My wife has also become my greatest support and cheerleader.
