Meet Alizé Rodriguez of Adore Alize in Santa Monica

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alizé Rodriguez.

Alizé, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My business started less than a year ago when I was 16 years old. I had just begun my first job but I wanted to make more money out of it. Where I come from everyone gets money illegally and that was not the path I wanted to go down. I started putting my job money into creating a website, buying inventory, and marketing. Every dollar I made went into my business. My business actually started getting attention from people all over the world. I launched my website on September 9, 2019.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
After being in the business world for a couple of months, I have come across some obstacles. One of them is one day I could make 20 orders in one day and then I will go for a couple of days without any orders. The business world is very inconsistent but I learned that and that has not kept me down. Another is that I only use my money to start this business. I have not taken a single penny from my parents, friends or anyone else. Which is difficult at my age because everyone wants the newest pair of sneakers.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
Adore Alize specializes in women’s clothing and beauty. I currently sell a few dresses and shirts but mostly beauty products. Such as eyelashes, serums, lip balms, and many more. I’m most known for my false eyelashes and lash extension appointments. But, I’m most proud of being so young and starting this business. It was hard for me to do because I did not know where to start. I am blessed for everyone that supports and helped me throughout this journey.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I always wanted to be my own boss. I knew that I did not want to work for anyone else. I was always into fashion and wanted to be a designer. I was always into street fashion more but I always still had a girly side. My love for fashion grew into my love for business. I still had to learn how to create an empire. So, I took a couple of classes at one of the colleges I plan to attend next year and they taught me a huge amount of marketing and business skills.
