Meet Alina Z

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alina Z.

Alina, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I came to the USA alone from Russia at the age of 15, following my passion and dream that I can create a life that I want. After all, America is the land of opportunity if you are willing to do the work. For many years, I followed the corporate career path until I because of a VP of Marketing for one of the largest catering companies in USA – Windows Catering Company.

For nearly four years, my entire days were wrapped around talking about food, writing about food, designing projects around food, thinking about food and tasting food! You can only imagine the toll it took on my health and my relationship with food overall! I also had to work many hours and was always on the go.

From early morning networking breakfasts to late-night cocktail receptions and galas, I barely had time to eat healthy. That busy lifestyle was so hectic that I gained my share of unwanted 20 pounds, which I struggled to lose with traditional diets. Diet book after diet book, my shelves were getting fuller, and waist wasn’t shrinking. As a last resort, I chose to take the matters in my own hands and enrolled to study nutrition at the world’s largest nutrition school — Institute For Integrative Nutrition, in New York City.

The experience was truly life-changing – I found my unique way to health and fell in love with the field of nutrition. I felt my calling to help others find their own ways to vitality and happiness, and so I took a plunge. I followed my passion, quit my job at the catering company and started my own business. I know how challenging and confusing it can be to navigate the world of healthy eating alone and now I am happy to be the support my clients’ needs to reach their goals of radiant health. I know that if I could do it, so can you!

The only thing that I saw missing in the health market was FUN! I saw food was either healthy or delicious and with my background in marketing for luxury brands I chose to promote the best of both worlds – food can be healthy, delicious, on the budget, quick and eAZy! Life is short, and you have to have a great time! Why settle for less than that?

Today, I cook for celebrity clients, hold private events and classes as well create recipes for national and local media outlets. My detox plan was named #1 Best Diet in America by Harpers Bazaar Magazine in 2015, and my food has been featured in magazines like Vogue, InStyle, People and Shape among many others. I also published a book “Single and Hungry: A Realistic Guide to Food and SelfLove.”

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Of course, no journey is easy. It was challenging to start my own business, learn new skills and get clients. But having faith and working hard paid off!

We’d love to hear more about what you do.
I am a private chef and a holistic health coach that works with busy professionals that want to eat delicious foods that gives them energy and vitality. I specialize in gluten-free, dairy-free and soy-free cuisine and cook and teach/coach clients, depending on their needs.

Because I come from a corporate background, I know what’s it like to be on-the-go, have limited time and low energy. I understand how people from different walks of life feel, so I can relate to them and help them in a way that’s most beneficial for them.

My unique approach to food begins with first helping clients fall in love with themselves so deeply that they make a commitment to love and honor their bodies fully and unconditionally. Then, I create a Couture diet that reflects their unique personalities and lifestyles.

I teach that finding foods that fit you is a lot like choosing the fashions that fill your closet. It’s a philosophy I call “Couture Nutrition®” and sharing it with others is my passion. I also make the process very eAZy and fun!

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
My passion. I think that because I love what I do and I love helping people, I can energize and inspire people. I find that people respond very well to passion and good food!

  • Private chef services – $700 per day
  • Private health/eating coaching – $3,000 a month
  • Group classes – varies on number of people and locations
