Meet Alhambra Fashion Stylist & Blogger: Cindy Pineda

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cindy Pineda.

Cindy, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
My love for fashion started when I was young. My mother was a seamstress, so I was always around clothes and fashion. I attended FIDM in Los Angeles to learn more about fashion and merchandising. After I graduated I started working as a fashion merchandiser. As a fashion merchandiser, one of my jobs was to style mannequins for window and store displays. I loved the styling aspect of merchandising so much that I decided to pursue a career as a personal stylist. Not too long after, a friend contacted me because she needed a stylist for a photoshoot. That’s when it all began. Ever since then I have built relationships with designers, models, and personal clients to style.

Has it been a smooth road?
A career in fashion has its struggles, it’s a hard industry. It has been a bumpy road, with trying to find clients and network with people. You are not guaranteed work all the time. This job is also not your normal 9-5 sometimes the hours are long. To me, that doesn’t matter because I love what I do.

Have there been people or an institution that has played a pivotal role in your career?
My boyfriend and friends are the people who have played a pivotal role in my career. They have supported me and pushed me to follow my passion.
From a friend I’ve known since high school, calls to ask me to style her client’s photoshoot (which started it all) to my boyfriend who has been my biggest supporter and helped me create my website.

What type of clients or projects do you look forward to most?
It’s hard to choose my favorite type of client or project. I love working one on one with a client who needs a new wardrobe and I love working on a photo/video shoot because they can be very creative, which means I can be creative and out there with my looks.
