Meet Alex Garcia of Los Evil Cooks in El Sereno

Today we’d like to introduce you to Pobre Diablo aka Alex Garcia and La bruja aka Elvia Huerta, Los Evil Cooks.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Alex. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
The Evil Cooks started three years ago as an idea of cooks clothing brand but people started asking for food and we end up in the food business. We cook anything from street food to fine dining. We have over 18 years in the business.

The Evil cooks are like rockstars. We travel in our “La diabla” (evilmobile) all over LA, IE, and OC. We are pirates, mercenaries and we go in the road killing appetite. We don’t follow rules, we just follow our hearts.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It hasn’t been easy at all. We started with no money. It was tough at the beginning trying to fill our calendar but with the support of so many people, everything has been coming along like a puzzle. The hardest part is to get noticed in the LA taco scene because you have to be crazy and creative. We know that nothing last forever and we know that it’s hard to get on top, but we have patience and so much passion for what we do.

Please tell us about Los Evil Cooks.
We are a food company that cooks anything from street food to fine dining. We’ve learned so many different types of cuisines that we put that knowledge in our own cooking. What set’s us apart is our creativity and our way of thinking outside the box. We have amazing food that shows another side of the traditional Mexican flavors. For example, Flan Taco, our branded tortillas known as torillas ceremoniales (in Mexico) and our Trompo de pastor Vegano. We have so many more crazy ideas under our sleeve. What set us apart of other businesses is that we are not a trend, rather we are the ones making THE trend.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
To be honest, we wouldn’t change anything. We’ve been through so many things that even pain is flavorful in this journey.
