Meet Aleksa Mara of AMARA Studio in Los Angeles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aleksa Mara.

Aleksa, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started as a production assistant and an executive assistant. Being an assistant is the best way to see how the big guns do it — to normalize the CEO, the Executive Producer, you have to see it with your own eyes. Seeing made me believe in myself, and I decided that I could do what they do. So I went for it.

I said yes to all the jobs that came my way and in 2017 I started AMARA Studio at my dining room table with my first and favorite client, EQUINOX.

You CAN wake up one morning and decide, “I am a [insert any role here].” It’s implementing that is important. Not everyone can do that.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
If everything were easy, then everyone would do it – right? So, no, nothing is easy, but I do believe that setbacks and failures can be handled with ease if you allow them to be what they are, to learn from them and to pivot, to accept change as a constant is to find ease in the process of growth. That applies to everything!

We’d love to hear more about your business.
We have two categories: Branded/Experiential and Private/Ceremonial. Whether you are a brand wanting to throw an event or create a piece of content that facilitates brand love, or a person wanting to celebrate a milestone in your personal life, our passion comes from getting to know your BRAND: what you stand for as a business or person.

Did you know money and love have the same energy wavelength? We use that in our experiential design.
We get to the core of you and build something from there.

We are detail oriented and as a team of really good friends, all of our projects are created with the energy of collaboration and ultimately, love.

What were you like growing up?
I was big in exploring my individuality. My family life frustrated me at times, so I took to the world to learn more about myself and who I could be out of the confines of the home. My mom is a successful media artist meaning I grew up in museums all around the world. So I saw that creation and implementation were possible at an early age. That is a key marker of who I am. Thanks mom, for dragging me to your shows, for giving me the gift of knowing what a creative process looks like!
