Meet Alec James Milewski and Flavio Milicchio of JCPinniez in Studio City

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alec James Milewski and Flavio Milicchio.

Alec and Flavio, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
We started as a couple of actors looking for a creative, artistic side hustle that we could pour our silly ideas into. Flavio had been making pins solo for a couple years. One day when we were hanging out, I saw a pin on his desk, and asked who had made them. He said he did, and my mind was blown and the two of us launched our own company.

Has it been a smooth road?
Overall it’s been a pretty smooth road, we have to thank the pin community for being so supportive. We are huge Disney fans; Flavio is from Florida and I’ve been to Disneyland and come across the Pin Trader area and it is so fun to watch people trade. Luckily for us we met tons of people around LA that love making pins and trade with us and share our pins on Instagram. Launching the business was easy thanks to Instagram and Big Cartel.

Please tell us about your work.
JCPinnniez is Me (Alec) and Flavio. A couple of actors based out of Studio City, Los Angeles, California. We specialize in pop culture, horror-centric Enamel Pins. We are proud that we were able to start from nothing and build quite a following in a matter of a few months. I think what sets us apart is the ability to always agree on our silly ideas and put them to paper, then get them made in a very short amount of time.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
Unfortunately, this whole pandemic has changed a big part of the Enamel Pin industry which is Pin Shows/Art Galleries. We used to be able to gather at venues and sell our pins with our friends. Luckily with the increasing social media outlets and ease of online shopping we have been able to keep our business going. It seems as though in the near future there will be more online pin shows, sort of like a social media QVC.

Pricing:

  • Pins range from $8-12
  • Stickers are $2
