Meet Adrianne Michelle of All Thingz Haute in Beverly Hills

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adrianne Michelle.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
All Thingz Haute originally started back in 2011, when I created a brand called HAUTE HEADZ. I had just graduated from cosmetology school in 2009, had a three-year-old son and not originally from Los Angeles. And that’s where my journey began as a hairstylist. During the first year out of school I created a trendy hair Accessory Line called HAUTE HEADZ. I came up with this trend working on a photoshoot one day by putting a necklace around the models head and there Haute Headz Head Chainz was born. I then gathered up $100 went downtown bought few chains and turned $100 into $40k within a two year period. Haute Headz could be seen on multiple celebrities, TV,and etc. After a nice run with the hair accessory, I became pregnant with my second son and stopped creating and went back to doing hair. I’ve never really stopped but I didn’t take it as serious as I potentially wanted because I was and am 100% for my children. And finding balance being a single African-American woman and mother in Los Angeles was much harder then expected BUT all my experiences have taught me more will And drive so that I can be a great example for my two sons.

Soon after my second son was two years old, my career began to pick up as a well-known hair artist. The past two years have been life-changing. And I begin touring the world as Cardi B‘s dancer’s Hair Stylist, as well working with a lot of amazing artist and people! My life literally change over night and i am for ever grateful. You could find my work on billboards of sunset, magazines, music videos, tv, ans etc. I literally became Poppin overnight. So as an entrepreneur that I am, I wanted to create a brand a haircare/ styling brand as well as a beauty brand that targeted girls like myself. Being biracial my hair confused not only my mom but myself. I also had a sister who has different hair texture than me so finding the proper product has always been difficult. So with all that being said, I created a brand called All Thingz Haute, I took a lot of time and value into formulating a product that not only gives you the results that you want but also keeps your hair healthy and manageable. It’s been definitely a bumpy road and I’m sure I’ll get deeper into that as this interview progresses but that’s a brief summary of how I started my journey.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It most definitely hasn’t been a smooth road to say the least. As I stated earlier, my company was originally called Haute Headz. But unfortunately, I was forced to change the name of my company due to bad partnerships. As much as I would love to go into detail, let’s just say when starting a company be very careful who you seek help from. As well as who you go into business with. Make sure they are qualified to handle the task that you yourself cannot. I say all this because I wanted to give up so bad, I lost a lot of money and a few friends. But one thing I never did was give up on myself and my goal in my business. All Thingz Haute Is the definition of never letting negativity, never letting haters derail you from your goal, and always believing in yourself. Because we are ALL THINGZ HAUTE!

All Thingz Haute – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I’m a well-known hairstylist in the game out here in Los Angeles. I created this brand because traveling the world working with the dancers who constantly need their hair done and styles change drastically in a short period of time. I wanted to create a product that not only gives and maintains the styles that you want but also keep your hair healthy and manageable. Our products are vegan, paraben free, sulfate free, organic essential oil’s. You can Set me apart from a lot of stylist because I don’t work in a salon, I travel, I have perform quick changes of hair styles in a short period of time, different clients daily but no matter who, what, or where I actually care about the state of everyone’s hair. Throughout my 11 years, I’ve watched so many entertainers, singers, actresses, actors models, and etc. literally have some really tore up hair because of a lot of stylist care about the look but not the actual health of one’s hair. So with all that being said, I feel that ALL THINGZ HAUTE is a brand for the people and is “The ART OF BEING BEAUTIFUL”

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
My definition of success is simply loving your job. When I wake up, I am super grateful for the people that I get to meet, for the conversations I get to have, for the creativity I get to show, and I think the best part of it all is that my sons and my family are proud of me because I do my job with integrity with morals and most importantly with love. Validation from anybody else is simply not in my radar.
