We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Absolutely not. There were a lot of struggles and detours along my path, but if I’m being honest the biggest obstacle was myself. I had to learn how to overcome my own self-limiting beliefs and I had to become clear about what my real goals were and why I wanted to achieve them.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Adonica Shaw Enterprises story. Tell us more about the business.
AS Enterprises is an umbrella company for several business ventures. I’m an author, speaker, business and life coach, but I also have an established career as a business and marketing professional. The businesses under this umbrella were created to focus my intention in the areas of business development, self-help/ self-actualization and marketing, and branding. I’m most proud of these ventures because, as a grouping, they represent areas of my life that I have a personal interest in. What set’s my companies apart is that they were developed through/ by my personal experiences. When people work with me they aren’t getting strategies and information that was built on theory, they are getting fact-based, proven methods to move their life and business forward.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I don’t know that I believe in luck, but what I do believe in, is “alignment.” For me, I’ve seen a direct correlation with “luck” or outcomes in professional situations when I’ve been in strong alignment with my preferred outcome. So for example, if I wasn’t putting in the work behind the scenes to grow my business, write my books, or develop my ideas, then things typically wouldn’t work out long term, thus resulting in “bad luck.” But on the flip side, when I stayed disciplined, put the work in, made decisive decisions for myself and my business, I was able to thrive.
