Meet Adam Nabeel

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adam Nabeel.

Hi Adam, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m an Omani artist & producer. I started releasing music in 2018 and it’s been a rollercoaster so far. Coming from a country where there are little to no opportunities in music, I wanted to push the boundaries and change that. Having built a strong foundation in Oman and Dubai, I decided to move to LA for more opportunities. During the pandemic, I spent a lot of time developing my sound and production and found myself creating this sonic universe that I call ‘Afro-rabia’. It’s a combination of different sounds that have inspired and moved me. My single ‘Thunder’ was the introduction to this world, and I’m excited to share more of it.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There have been a lot of challenges along the way, but I don’t like to focus on the negatives too much. What I can say is that in the last three years, I’ve been recording a ton of music that will probably never come out, I think the biggest challenge for me, musically, is deciding which records I want to share with the world and which ones I want to keep for myself.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m currently working on a lot of new music and visuals, and If all goes well, I have a project due to drop before the end of the year. This will be a more intimate and personal project and I can’t wait to share another layer of myself.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
I was blessed with a really supportive family that encouraged me to stay as real as I can with everything I do. I started playing the guitar at a young age and, musically, looked up to Carlos Santana for the way he gave his guitar its own voice. I became obsessed with the idea of that and I started applying it to my own music. If you listen closely to most of my records, you’ll hear hints of it all around.
