Meet Adam Campbell of SelfieSpin360 in Santa Monica

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adam Campbell.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I just launched the company in November 2017. Our promo video has been viewed over 95k times. I’m originally from the midwest (Cleveland) and moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in music. I play the drums but unfortunately could not find a band good enough to get a record deal so… I got a job at the record label. Universal Music Group was a dream come true in terms of music but I always wanted to make my own dreams come true instead of just helping Justin Beiber make another million dollars.

I was always creating videos of my nights out with friends or vacations and was looking for a new form of footage. My very first SelfieSpin360 was made out of a coat hanger. I took a wooden coat hanger out of my closet, drilled some holes into it and attached some fishing line.

My friends and I always come up with fun business ideas. On Christmas day in 2017, I decided to move forward with SelfieSpin360. I wanted to start a business which would push people to travel more. We live in a social media world and capturing memories with a SelfieSpin360 is a unique and never before seen way to tell your story.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Haha! It has most definitely not been a smooth road. Any entrepreneur who says they had a smooth road is lying. My to-do list is never shrinking, always growing. But this makes it exciting. If it was easy, everyone would do it. At the very beginning, we were working with a manufacturer in China which was very interesting as the difference in work days and some language barriers. Most of my struggles are washed away seeing the look of amazement on my friends, family, and customers’ faces when they see the SelfieSpin360 videos.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about SelfieSpin360 – what should we know?
The smartphone and GoPro accessory everyone’s talking about. We offer a unique and never before seen way for people to stand out on social media, capture memories in a unique way and tell their story with amazing 360-degree selfie videos.

We are known for attracting a crowd actually. As soon as I start swinging a SelfieSpin360, I always have people come up to me asking what it is and what it does. I then show them the videos it makes and they want to try it out!

The thing that sets us apart from competitors such as a selfie stick is that the end product (360-degree video) is mesmerizing and tells much more of the story than a still selfie. If a picture is worth a thousand words, our 360 selfies are worth millions!

Business and pleasure – while most of our videos are of SoCal fun, we’ve worked with several businesses to promote their new product or opportunities. We’ve made videos for Realtors showing off a new house and a wine subscription business. Our product helps businesses reach new customers and stand out on social media.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
I hand build, package and ship each SelfieSpin360 myself. I’m a small business owner looking to make a difference, not make a paycheck. I want SelfieSpin360 to be more about the brand rather than the product. The SelfieSpin360 brand get’s people to book a Costa Rican vacation or hike the local trail or even announce their engagement in a unique way!
