Meet Adam Azad Kaligi of Geo Forward in Downtown Los Angeles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adam Azad Kaligi.

Adam, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
While completing my degree in geology, I worked as an intern for the Los Angeles Department of Public Works. At age 20 (ambitious as ever), I graduated from Cal Poly Pomona amid the financial crisis of 2008. The job climate was stiff, but I was grateful to start working at a reputable firm right away.

Out of college, I worked for some of the best professionals in the industry. In the global oil and gas sector, I gained experience through engineering projects to clean-up contaminated soil and groundwater with large-scale budgets. In the commercial real estate sector, I accomplished similar projects under stringent budgets and other limitations. And in the water resources sector, my work experience was expanded to the production of ocean-water desalination systems.

By the year 2015, I began developing my own method of optimizing environmental engineering projects. The goal in starting Geo Forward was to provide premium engineering and geological services using a forward-thinking business strategy. Today, Geo Forward has a variety of ongoing projects that are uniquely enhanced from the early stages.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The work experienced through my twenties was incredibly challenging. Entry-level geologists in the private sector are expected to endure long hours, work during weekends, travel frequently, tolerate harsh field conditions and meet rapid deadlines. Nonetheless, I’ve always kept my eye on the ball, and maintained a positive attitude.

I never turned down a project, and gladly took on as many tasks as I could. This challenge was a reliable way to self-evaluate my maximum capability. From this method, I eventually proved myself capable of taking on the industry as an entrepreneur.

I also set aside a few life-long dreams to start Geo Forward. This included the opportunity to buy a home in my twenties. But until this day, I have no regrets.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Geo Forward – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
