Meet Abbey Claire Keusch of Abbey Claire Professional Organizing

Today we’d like to introduce you to Abbey Claire Keusch.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I’ve always been organized, and love that I get to help people while doing what I truly love to do. I come from a background in teaching, and found I was more interested in organizing the classroom than being the head of the classroom. I started my organizing business 11 years ago in Los Angeles. I’ve learned a lot since then, about running a business, about who I am as an organizer, and who my ideal clients are.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The organizing has been the easy part – the challenges have come with learning how to run a business. I had no previous business training so finding the right resources has at times been challenging. I’m learning and gaining experience as I go. One of the most important lessons I’ve learned is its ok to ask for help, it’s ok to not know how to do something, but it’s not ok to give up.

Abbey Claire Professional Organizing – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
As a professional organizer, I help my clients gain control over their home environments. We work together to create functional and comfortable spaces; to minimize time spent putting things away, or finding things when they need them. My specialties include prepping for a move, unpacking after a move, and general de-cluttering.
In addition to organizing, I work with clients on time management, space planning, and closet design.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
I’ve had many proud moments during the last 11 years, but the one that stands out is the first time I worked with clients to design and install new closets. It was something I was a little intimidated to do, but I trusted myself (and thankfully my clients trusted me!) and the end result is something I’m very proud of.
