Meet Aalijah Owens

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aalijah Owens.

Hi Aalijah, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My name is Aalijah Owens or also known as Ally Owens and I’m an MUA. I started off doing makeup when I was a senior in high school.

I then graduated from high school, started attending RCC, and started taking clients locally in the city of Riverside. Everything was starting to go well with the start of my business until I fell in love, got pregnant, and had to survive a single pregnancy.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
When I first started chasing my dreams things were going well but I ended up going through a toxic relationship and then a single pregnancy and ended up putting a holt in my business.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a makeup artist!

I specialize in special effects makeup and beauty makeup. I’m most proud of my growth and endurance to keep growing. What sets me apart from others is my want to reach my dreams in spite of the hurdles that I had to endure.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The most important lesson that I had to learn was things happen and you can either let those things define you or you can use them as fuel to keep pushing through life. Lastly but most importantly, keep God first and consider that the sufferings of your present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed in you – Romans 8:18
