Life & Work with Regina Williams

Today we’d like to introduce you to Regina Williams.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’m a CNA by trade… I was working at hospital that I truly loved and one day, I was let go. I truly didn’t understand why! But, very shortly afterwards my Mom was diagnosed with cancer and shortly after that my Dad was diagnosed with Dementia and my world came crumbling down. I asked the Lord “why…why me Lord…why me” and He answered “For this time here”! Because I have a medical background, I was able to care for my parents exceptionally well.

I cried my heart out and believed me when I say caregiving is extremely hard… It’s extremely hard. Caring for my parents by myself became extremely overwhelming to where I had a stroke. I stayed in the ICU for five days. Being in the hospital was my only vacation to this day (some vacation huh). I returned home and never skipped a beat caring for my parents all by myself. When working in a hospital you have a team…you are a team but at home as a caregiver your on your own and all alone.

God knew I was hurting so one morning while lying in bed the Lord spoke to me and said…

The Lord: Regina you know the lil salsa you make for your taco’s…

Me: Yes Lord

The Lord: I want you to add some shrimp and avocado’s to it…

Me: Lord your gonna have to show me how to do it…Step by step!

The Lord: Was silent…

I got up out of my bed went into the kitchen and the Holy Spirit guided my every footstep.

I named my first flavor “Holy Matrimony” and have created several flavors since then.

I praise God for His goodness and favour!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth road for me. Taking care of my parents, I wasn’t then and still not able to promote and network my business like I need too which plays a major role in starting and keeping a business.

Even though my Dad (my best friend) passed away 11/21/2020 from Dementia, I still care for my 89 years old Mom.

Not having enough money for a caregiver to care for my Mother is a struggle in itself, let alone trying to start a business plus keep it a float and on top of that NO FINANCES coming in man what a struggle. It takes a lot to get your business started from filing the proper documents, food handlers certificate, etc. And No Finances!!!

My hands are tied and my plate is full but I am an overcomer.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a homemade Chef. I Specialize in Gourmet Salsa.

I’ve learned that I’m very creative in how I put flavors together and that my taste palette is very unique.

I handpick and chop all my ingredients. I’ve been asked why don’t I use a food processor or why don’t you get a team to help you? My answer to them is… My compassion is loving & caring for people. I love to see people smile and enjoy themselves weather it’s good food or just having a grand ole good time. Me chopping my ingredients by hand with love…mixing the ingredients by hand with love allows me to pour myself into my Salsa with love which brings me Joy and that’s what the people taste.

How do you think about happiness?
What makes me happy is to know that I’ve made others happy as a matter of fact, I’m gonna take it a step further. I love to bring joy to people. There’s a difference between happiness and Joy.

Happiness is felt from the surface and short live.

But Joy lives and comes from the Heart and that’s what brings me Joy!
