Life & Work with Masha Titova

Today we’d like to introduce you to Masha Titova.

Hi Masha, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
After finishing my BFA at Massachusettes College of Art & Design, I moved to Los Angeles to work for Yeezy and BCBGMaxazria. As a production manager at Yeezy, I was working long hours traveling to manufacturing facilities. In the middle of a 109° day, wires digging in and boob sweat and all, I took off my bra at work. Bra in hand and annoyed, I set off to create lingerie that doesn’t distract me from my busy life. In 2019 I through my life into TITOV, a luxury lingerie brand. TITOV’s focus is on inclusive sizing & creating custom, one-of-a-kind pieces for those looking for something different. Today TITOV is in a number of specialty lingerie boutiques and is on the official New York Fashion Week Calendar through IMG.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
TITOV is completely bootstrapped it has been incredibly difficult to grow, yet I believe with tighter resources you can really push yourself and think outside of the box. I’d say that finding solutions to what seem like never-ending problems is my biggest advantage. I almost feel like a broken record saying this, but the IOS update really created a problem for all businesses relying on instagram ads. And with other platforms still figuring out their place in customer acquisition, it’s be a lot of trial and error to get us in front of customers.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
In another lifetime, I would have become an architect. I’m known for my work that is inspired by sharp edges and elements from architecture, specifically from the Art Deco Era. I source fabrics and create designs that incorporate beautiful motifs that are reminiscent of arches, windows, columns, and gold details throughout. For a category that is typically flooded with florals, I’m known for bringing in geometric textures to make TITOV’s lingerie special.

What does success mean to you?
Success to me is all about feeling content and never being bored. I want to know that there is always something to work on or learn something new. As long as I wake up and know something productive or entertaining will happen, I’ll be successful.
