Today we’d like to introduce you to Marshecka Rodgers.

Hi Marshecka, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
After planning my own wedding over eighteen years ago, I instantly fell in love with the aspect of planning and designing elaborate weddings and events.

I sincerely fell in love with every aspect of the wedding planning journey. And fully immersed myself in the industry. I started out in Michigan and shortly after my husband’s job moved us to the San Francisco Bay Area and again in 2017, my husband’s job moved us to Los Angeles, CA.

Today, the business resides in Corona, CA, but I continue to serve clients in the Bay Area, Metropolitan Detroit, Los Angeles, and destinations around the world. Marshecka Weddings and Events will go wherever our client’s dream takes us. We love all events, by our specialty are Luxury Weddings.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road hasn’t been smooth with all the movements, you essentially have to start over and build each time you move to a new location and this takes time, which has made things very challenging at times.

I feel like if I had stayed in one area, my business would have progressed a lot sooner. However, I’m thankful for every struggle, or challenge in my business because it gives me the opportunity to grow in my industry and as an expert in my field.

I embrace challenges and face them head-on. It can sometimes be fearful moving into unknown territory, but I feel the fear and proceed anyway.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Although we plan all types of events at Marshecka Weddings & Events, weddings are our specialty. I am known for having an eye for decadent details, professionalism, and a heart that loves bringing visions to life. Creativity is one of my superpowers and I sincerely enjoy being of service to my clients NOTHING brings me greater joy.

I have spent the last few years establishing myself as a well-respected Professor of Event Planning, as well as teaching Wedding Planning, Hotel and Lodging, and Business Management Courses.

What sets me apart from others is my work ethic, my integrity, my commitment to being of service, and the fact that I believe in always delivering a world-class experience for each client.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
One of the most important lessons that I’ve learned along my journey is to enjoy the process.

Oftentimes, we wish for things to be bigger and better instantly, which causes us to lose focus on the present moment and we fail to truly enjoy the journey.

Another thing that I’ve learned in business is that failure is a part of the journey toward success. Once you’ve failed at something, you can take what you learned and begin again.
