Today Glen Alen resides in Hollywood California where he continues to teach, perform and do makeup for film and television.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There are many different types of struggles I’ve had.

After my 17 year career as a hairstylist, where I also managed a salon and was a national educator…

When I started my career as a makeup artist. No one cared about my accolades, awards or success in my hair career.

I had to start at the bottom and work for free for a year. I had no cable television and no Starbucks coffee, LOL.

I had three emotional breakdowns.

I am blessed to have had a drag career that spans decades. I am grateful that my ongoing perseverance for enhancing the art of drag and celebrate personation inspires club owners to continually book me alongside RuPaul Drag Race mega superstars.

And I needed to strengthen my spiritual life.

So I put together a set of daily spiritual exercises.

– Pray and meditate

– Write a gratitude list.

– Give God my insecurities and fears to be replaced with willingness and courage.

– Read a positive affirmations.

– Look into the mirror and repeat the words “I love you and you deserve the very best.”

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
