Today we’d like to introduce you to Elvia Munoz.
Hi Elvia, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Growing up, I always begged my mom for point and shoot cameras and I loved wearing cute outfits, so I have tons of pictures of questionable outfits, haha! Social media platforms like YouTube and Instagram became very popular when I was a teen, and I was an avid follower of fashion girls on these apps. But while I enjoyed following fashion accounts on these platforms, I struggled. The fashion girls of that time weren’t 5’1 and curvy and most had a slim figures. So when the pandemic hit and out came TikTok, I started an account focused on my love for fashion, beauty, my culture and my city!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
If there’s one thing I learned from my Mexican mama is that one has to work hard for what they want in life. And I want to explore my creative passions, but I also have bills to pay! So it’s not easy carving out time for content and holding a corporate 9-5 job. I’ve had to learn how to maximize my day to ensure I keep up and remain consistent on the app.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Currently, I have what I refer to as “a boring 9 to 5.” But 100% of my free time is spent exploring my passions, which includes creating content for Tik Tok, Instagram and Pinterest. I love conceptualizing, creating, editing, posting videos/pics but most importantly, I love interacting with my audience via DM & comments. I’m so proud of the content I make but I truly adore the videos of mine that are centered for the large bust girlies. They range from trying on clothes that doesn’t fit me because of my large bust to my mom creating a custom swimsuit to make sure it fits right or sharing my favorite bra brands. I think that’s what sets me apart from the other creators on TT. I create content specific to the issues I experience as a 5’1, midsize fashion girl with a large bust & curvy waist while tossing in parts of my culture, my family and my latinidad.
What does success mean to you?
Success by definition is the accomplishment of an aim or purpose. But in my 27 years of life, I have found that as I accomplish my goals, I can count on myself to generate ten new goals, haha. So I know that success is forever evolving, therefore, as I accomplish my goals, I ride the wave and immerse myself in the sense of joy that comes with having accomplished one of my goals.
