Life & Work with C’Marie

Today we’d like to introduce you to C’Marie.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I am an up and coming independent R&B/pop artist. At the age of two, my parents put me in a dance class and I never turned back. From hip hop, jazz, tap, ballet, lyrical and so much more. I competed and danced professionally from the ages 9-13. From there, I was ready to go from being in the back to being upfront! I was put into a girl group and fell in love with the challenge of singing and the competitiveness that this industry has. After three years of learning so much from my girl group, I decided to part my ways and continue as a solo artist. Since then, I’ve had the amazing opportunity to record multiple projects with multiple producers, go on school tours, open up for the Millennium Tour in 2019, and find a passion for writing my own music. I’ve been building and working on finding my true authentic self and at the age of 22 and I love sharing my story through my music. Although the pandemic did a lot of harm, I was able to take that time and figure out the artist I wanted to be and what my purpose was. I released two new projects with multiple visuals and still dance my way through my music.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely not a smooth road haha, mentally it’s a very hard industry, and I continue to challenge my communication skills. I have also had my fair share of dealing with the wrong people that take advantage. I try to look at them as very expensive learning experience, and it has gotten me to where I am now. So I’m thankful that I now know what not to do, haha!!!

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am an Independent R&B / POP artist, and I think my biggest accomplishment was being able to release my new music and to be so proud of it, music I stand behind and that’s relevant to me. Making music that I love is so special, my authenticity, hard work and dancing is what sets me apart. I love performing!

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
I have learned so much from COVID-19, it’s taught me to find a way to make something happen. It’s been so cool to see everyone get so creative and innovative during this pandemic!
