Life & Work with Clare Riche

Today we’d like to introduce you to Clare Riche.

Hi Clare, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I was born and raised in St.Louis, MO. I grew up in a household with both of parents who were very hard working. My mom was an RN and my father was a factory worker. Growing up, I was always interested in the arts. From painting to music to fashion design. I used to cut up my clothing to make outfits for my teddy bears. In middle school, I decided fashion was my interest. In high school, I designed prom dresses for my friends. Although I couldn’t really sew, I decided to go to college for fashion design. Moving to Los Angeles was always a dream of mine. Upon arrival in old Angeles, I began to model and work events such as Mercedes Benz fashion week. I was a victim of a hate crime which is how I got into make up. After two years of program, I had to move back home to help take care of my parents who were sick.

After being home for two years, both parents passed away four weeks apart. After my parents passed away, I decided to do make up as a full-time job. I rushed back to LA and decided it was time to truly live my life. Being a self-taught make up put me at tables I would never thought I’d be at. Although the journey sometimes an seems like it’s moving slow, it’s do worth it. My first gig was an ad campaign with Mackenzie Hill for lumi bloom. It was a three day shoot which I worked with Olympic champions Natasha Hadtings and Delilah Muhammad. Moving forward, my career just continued to blossom. One day a friend asked if I wanted a job at Fashion Nova which I decided yes, why not? Lol, I worked there for three years where I met celebrities such as Cardi B, Trina, Meghan Good, K Michelle, Jodie Joe and more. Working there just put me in better positions to network. I moved on to work with Jason Harvey, Justin Combs Dan Bilzerian, Christian Combs, Kendal Kyndal, Kasi Lemmons, Milano Dirouge, Rob Kardaahian, Alexis Skyy, Mehgan James, Queen Naija, Jodie Joe, Zoé Alicia, French Montana, OG, Prettylittlething, Black Radiance, Jessie Woo, DJ Duffey, Natasha Hastings, Samsung Under Armor, Lamyiah Good, LoLo Wood, The Robin B, Dalilah Muhammad, Miracle Watts, BET, VH1, Dreezy, Trey Songz, Go Daddy, abc, Quinta, Sheryl Ralph Lee.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
My only struggle is seasonal depression from losing my mom is October my brother in November and my dad in December. At the age of 11, I lost my brother to gang violence. My parents passed away four weeks apart. My mom was my best friend which I knew my journey would be hard without her.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a celebrity makeup artist that specializes in natural/everyday glam. Although that’s not all, I do that’s what I’m mostly hired for. When I first started my career, I wanted to do the heavy highlight and contour. Unfortunately, that just wasn’t my lane. Although I am an influencer as well creative looks are only good for ig content and tv/film. I am most proud of just how far I come honestly. To have a resume that includes celebrities such as Dan Bilzerian, Kasi Lemmons, Milano Dirouge, Rob Kardaahian, Queen Naija. And networks such as bet, vh1, abc, just to name a few. I’m thankful for every opportunity. What sets me apart from others is I’m always putting my best foot forward. I’ve been in some crazy situations and one thing they all say is Clare you have so much patience. Sometimes things are just out of our control but you’re in control of your talent.

What’s next?
Well, I just wrapped my first reality project “Boss’d Up” which premieres March 23rd Exclusively on Remidi Tv. Fans will get to see what I’ve been up to. I’m also working on Clare Riche cosmetics which I can’t wait to launch! And hopefully, I can teach a class one day. I know it’s really only the beginning although I’ve been doing makeup for ten years!!
