Today we’d like to introduce you to Vivianna Severance.
Hi Vivianna, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’ve always been that kid who didn’t fit in. I couldn’t grasp the competitiveness of my peers or their shallow conversations. I needed depth I couldn’t find in others, so I spent a lot of time alone. No, don’t feel sorry for me because alone time was and still is a balm for my soul! In that time alone you could find me outdoors, in the sun, literally playing with fire (sorry mom). I had a long necklace chain that I would scry with before I even knew what it was. I was very intuitive as a child, sensitive too. Animals and drawing, along with making mud pies with all the twigs and leaves with “witches” brews were my life. Fast forward to my twenties, I was already in a job that fit my dreams. Working with animals and a successful business owner. I was delving into my gifts including Tarot which I hadn’t known was practiced by members in my family. I was on my way!
Until the day I read the cards for a potential partner and ignored all the red flags. My gifts went into hibernation while I learned all the hard lessons. I spent years in an emotionally and psychologically abusive relationship that took years after it ended to recover from that deep seeded trauma. Today, I look back on that time and am grateful and humbled by the amazing children I have been blessed with. No regrets, those lessons I learned brought me growth and an ability to stand my ground. I am remarried to an amazing person and our relationship of over ten years is still strong. Damn, he sexy! My gifts flooded back into my life several years ago and I was encouraged by an amazing community of women to pursue them. Today I am a Reiki practitioner, Sacred jewelry designer, intuitive healer, Tarot reader, and Entrepreneur. Always evolving and learning, I have accepted my path to help others in my healing work and look forward to the near future. Big plans ahead!!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Oh gosh, is it ever a smooth road for anyone? I struggle just like everyone else. My biggest obstacle has been my own issue with perfectionism. If it’s not absolutely perfect then it’s worthless and so am I. Sheesh, I sure don’t miss that frame of mind. It sounds awful to me now. What my art has taught me is the imperfections is what makes it beautiful. Just like life! I have moved past this and can appreciate the work I do in all ways.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
My Sacred Jewelry designs are made for lightworkers, healers, shamans, and our clients. Every single piece I make is with intention and I always imagine the person it will belong to. I have watched this play out, what a trip! I work with crystals and gemstones, creating pendants, amulets, bracelets, rings, and earrings. They are available on my website www.wildravenjewelry.com and also at The Mindful Lotus in Lake Elsinore. I am also known for my Canna-Bliss Wand collection. These statement pieces are designed to be worn as a necklace and used with plant medicines in spliff form. Cannabis, used with intention, is an incredible all-purpose healing herb. My goal is to bring Cannabis out of the dark days of prohibition and remind us all that this is a sacred plant to be respected. Adding this plant medicine to ritual, meditation, yoga practice can bring an awareness that was once hidden. There is so much medicine available to us with Cannabis. My services include intuitive healing sessions using Reiki, Ne0-Shamanism, and Tarot readings. Reiki is a Japanese healing art and translates to “universal life energy”. We live in a world of energy that nourishes and maintains all living things. When this energy flows uninterrupted there is balance and harmony within and around us, and we experience a sense of well-being. I bring in Neo-Shamanism with spiritual tools and sacred objects to move out stagnant and stubborn energies. Tarot of course is one of my favorites! I own several decks, each with their own personality. They are always accurate, sometimes sarcastic, and can be like that old wise grandma that gives you sh*t when you aren’t acting right!
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I have always been a risk taker. I started my first business when I was 15 and it’s been a love of mine ever since. I took a huge risk when I purchased my first grooming business at 22. This place was a disaster with a bad reputation. My mother, when she saw it for the first time was so scared for me. “Vivianna, are you sure you want to buy this place??” was her reaction. I saw nothing but potential and ended up building this business up to be one of the top grooming shops in the area. I sold that business for 20 times what I purchased it for four years later and started a family. I started another grooming business in 2014 with my books now full. I have designed my schedule to fit the needs of my children and work it part-time so I can homeschool them and be present in their lives. Then of course, I took the risk of starting Wild Raven! Financially it has been a small investment but a very vulnerable place for me to be. Sharing my gifts and creativity with the world has been a scary endeavor that I have embraced with my whole heart.
