Today we’d like to introduce you to Tresjere Jennings.
Tresjere, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
The journey creating Tre Milo began with the desire to live a cleaner lifestyle. Practicing mindfulness with what I put in my body and what I put on my body, was inclusive to the beauty products I chose to use. After trying many brands advertised as “ethical,” I realized they were also underperforming. They simply did not generate the results I expected from my cosmetics.
I then decided if I couldn’t purchase clean beauty that actually worked, I’d have to create it myself. And after extensive research and countless formula testing, Tre Milo was formed.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road has not always been smooth.
In owning and running your own business, there are no “clocked in” or “clocked out” hours. I wear the many hats of a photographer, makeup artist, investor, head of packaging, shipping and social media manager. I’m constantly working, however business is not at the capacity to pay me for all the time I put in. Profits from each sale are directly reinvested into the company.
My advice to anyone getting started is to begin your endeavors in areas you have a passion for and truly interest you. When there is meaning in the work you do, you have the endurance to keep going when hardships arrive.
Radically accept where you are without comparison and stay consistent.
Please tell us about Tre Milo.
I provide mindful cosmetics to those who believe in consuming products made with integrity. As a company growing in the industry, I am working on every aspect to be as respectful towards the planet as possible.
Tre Milo is known as a beauty brand that is vegan, cruelty-free and gluten-free. That’s what makes me proud, honoring what goes into my products because its a platform to show I honor myself.
Were there people and/or experiences you had in your childhood that you feel laid the foundation for your success?
It’s vital to reflect on the women who came before me, that is my foundation.
Much of what fuels me comes from my wonderful grandmothers. Their stories of sacrifice and witnessing their fabulous has been nothing short of inspiration.
The devotion they’ve poured into me is authentic and has required me to show up for myself.
