Life & Work with Tarra Rose

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tarra Rose.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I am the founder and creator of Rose Fitness. Rose Fitness offers virtual, live, and recorded fitness classes for all levels and body types. Classes offered include Barre, Yoga, Dance Cardio, Meditation and more! Dance and fitness has always been a passion in my life. I gained my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Performance from the University of California, Irvine in 2015. Soon after, I used my creative skills to plan social and corporate events as well as weddings at a luxury resort located in Newport Beach. Along with this career, I became one of the founding members of the professional dance company, The Hubbard Collective, under the direction of Irishia Hubbard. I was also fortunate enough to gain my group fitness certification in Barre fitness which when COVID hit, and I lost my job in hospitality, became my new full-time career. It was then that I truly decided to fully pursue my passion for fitness and dance and create Rose Fitness. Within a global pandemic, I believe we all have struggled to find consistency and dedication to one particular thing. Rose Fitness not only promotes physical health but also provides a platform for mental stability. The Rose flower is a symbol of balance. By joining Rose Fitness, you are not only supporting your fitness goals, but you are supporting balance and stability in your life. Rose Fitness offers affordable virtual workout classes and by becoming a Rose member, you join an online community in which you feel supported on your journey for fitness and personal growth.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Oh boy…technology! I had always considered myself to be quite tech-savvy until recently. Since I am providing fitness classes, this also means that I need music! I use zoom as my platform to teach and it took me a year to figure out how to successfully make my audio the best it could be. I struggled with making sure that the music and my voice did not interrupt or override one another. After watching many YouTube videos, I finally found the solution. Bluetooth headphones with an attached microphone for the win!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Creativity has been in my bones since the day I was born. I found a passion for dance at the age of seven years old. I danced all the way up through high school and ended up gaining my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Performance. After college, I taught dance classes to kids at local studios while also working in the field of events and hospitality. Once I gained my group fitness certification in Barre and started teaching adults, I found my true love. I believe I specialize in not only getting a class hype and excited to workout, but I also understand the important of customer service due to my background in hospitality. If a client walks into a fitness studio, they should be treated the same way as if they were paying to stay the night at a luxury resort. I am able to connect to my clients in a way that shows that I care about them and want them to succeed in their fitness goals. I make sure to always remember a client’s first name so that when they show up to either my virtual or in person classes, I say hello to them in a timely manner and greet them as if we have known each other for years. I am most proud of creating my own online fitness program, Rose Fitness. Since I specialize in customer service and bringing different people together to create a community, I have already gained more members than I thought possible! I am loving being my own boss and allowing others to share and have the same love that I do for fitness! Please join me in becoming a Rose Member today!

The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
If there is one thing that I have learned due to the Covid-19 crisis is that life is short and if you have dreams to create them NOW! It has always been a dream of mine to open up my own fitness studios. Although I got laid off from my full-time job, it was almost like a blessing in disguise. I now get to become my own boss and live life to the fullest. I am thrilled to see what becomes of Rose Fitness and I am fortunate to feel inspired to do so at this time.
