Life & Work with Stacey Soleil

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stacey Soleil.

Hi Stacey, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your backstory. So, would you mind walking us through how you got to where you are today?
How I started out and where I am today has been quite the journey. When I was in my early 20’s, I was working for a Portland, Oregon real estate brokerage as their newspaper marketing & advertising coordinator and I had big plans to become a successful marketing executive & published author. It was the late 1990’s, I had recently gotten married & before I knew it, my husband’s job was relocated to Los Angeles & my family was quickly growing. Like so many women, I wrestled with finding the balance between career, family life & cost of living adjustments with small children, & ultimately I decided to place my focus on being a stay-at-home mom for the next several years and I put my own career aspirations temporarily on hold. Life, love and marriage shifted and changed for me over the years, and once my children were school-aged, I began my reintegration back into the career world. I quickly realized that my 1990’s career skillsets had become outdated and irrelevant & the traditional marketing methodologies I was well versed in were being replaced by the newer digital marketing concepts that were now evolving in the early 2000’s. I knew I needed to quickly pivot my marketing capabilities or else I’d have to change career lanes completely, so I immersed myself in all things digital. Over the next several years, I read every industry book I could get my hands on, taught myself the basics of simple HTML coding, online marketing tactics, social media advertising, 3rd party app integrations and I joined numerous Los Angeles based business networking groups such as WITI, Digital LA & Jeff Pulver’s #140conf group.

For numerous years I was that scrappy independent marketing consultant that would relentlessly seek out new business opportunities with anyone & everyone that would give me the time of day. It was certainly a hustle, but over time, I earned a solid reputation as a go to resource for all things “social marketing”, and as a result, I was given the opportunity to work for a couple of Los Angeles based boutique marketing firms that were on the cutting edge of digital marketing. One of my favorite mentors along the way was the extremely gifted Lori Dicker who created the then Karma Media Labs & who later went on to run accounts with 20th Century Fox, Ogilvy, PBS & who currently serves as the VP of Digital Strategy for AARP. From that point in my career moving forward, I had the opportunity to work with individuals & brands across numerous verticals (from entertainment, fashion, music, start-ups and beyond) and I later became a local, Los Angeles based social media influencer which allowed me to collaborate with a plethora of brands, celebrities, businesses and red-carpet events alike.

By the mid-2000’s I found myself full circle back within the world of real estate marketing. The brokerage that I partnered up with was run by EXP’s Matthew Hartman, a former Silicon Valley ed-tech investor, and together we worked on optimizing the traditional elements of running a real estate brokerage into a more modernized & digitally fluent operation. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of working under the mentorship of President/CEO of Williston Financial Group, Patrick Stone, as well as Justin Tucker, EVP, Director of Strategic Initiatives & Justin Stutz, VP Strategic Growth. As a result, I’ve earned countless opportunities to become a nationally recognized real estate speaker, business advisor & trainer, who now works with many of the top-producing brokerages, Realtors®️ & real estate teams across Southern California. In my current role as Marketing & Technology Director with WEST, a Williston Financial Group Company, I am able to fuse together modern day tech solutions with my 20+ years of industry experience to help real estate professionals to optimize & grow their existing business model. Being able to do this is near & dear to my heart, especially during this unprecedented time of shift and change due to the pandemic.

2021 kicked off with a bang as I was honored with the distinction of being named one of the 2021 INMAN AMBASSADORS, which paved the way for me to moderate a session for INMAN CONNECT NOW this past February. I’m beyond thrilled to say that I can officially call myself a professional writer, as I am an ongoing contributing writer for the leading resource for real estate news,, as well as a writer for The Modern Day Agent. I was recently invited to become a national adjunct instructor for RRC – the Residential Real Estate Council (NAR’s largest affiliate group), as well as serve as a campaign advisor for a couple of candidates running for crucial positions within the Women’s Council of Real Estate. When I’m not teaching, or in Zoom sessions with my clientele, you’ll also find me all over social media or hosting chats on Clubhouse for my curated real estate community called Ready…Set…THRIVE!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Oh my…smooth? Well, have ANY of us really had an easy road to success? For most of us, the answer is probably, a big resounding “NO!”. That being said, I’ve grown to really appreciate those early “scrappy years” in my personal life & career because I truly believe that learning how to be resourceful and inventive is the KEY to not only finding your place but for sustaining your career success no matter how much the industry shifts and changes.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Currently, I serve as a marketing & business advisor with WEST, a Williston Financial Group Company & my clientele consists of real estate professionals across Southern California. I’m extremely passionate about discovering & sharing the latest and greatest marketing & tech tools within our industry that will ultimately help real estate professionals to maximize their business. I’m also a huge fan of deep-dive conversations with industry storytellers, creative thinkers and contrarians alike, discussing what works and what doesn’t within our industry. That being said, I’m always on the lookout for innovative and top-performing real estate talent across the country to interview for either my livestream or to have on as guests for our curated Ready…Set…THRIVE! Clubhouse events. My ultimate goal is to educate, motivate & inspire Los Angeles based real estate professionals to level up their game! (This includes Realtors, Lenders, Escrow professionals, etc.). My mission is to bring value & consistency to my clientele & I work to achieve this by teaching webinars, private courses, publishing industry articles, working one-on-one with top performers and by constantly keeping my finger on the pulse of what’s moving the needle within our industry. My promise to my valued clientele to always make sure they are first in line to stay informed, prepared & educated in an ever shifting industry. The standard I set for myself is to continually learn & grow so that my clientele will ALWAYS be well prepared to THRIVE!

What was your favorite childhood memory?
Probably those hot summer days growing up in Midwest Ohio when my family would go canoeing together. Those early days of bickering in the canoe taught my siblings and I the importance of communication and teamwork from an early age. Either that or sitting in the back of my Dad’s 54 Dodge or 57 Chevy singing either classic country music or Motown hits. LOL…yeah, picture THAT!
