Life and Work with Shai Jainal

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shai Jainal.

Shai, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I have loved fashion since I was a kid and once IG started i feel in love with the ease at which I can access so many great looks and styles. Back in the day I created an account then deleted it a few years ago, then created another one since I can’t help but  post my OOTD and show it to my followers or just the satisfaction of sharing it. Lately, I have been focused and serious about my daily postings I really want to make sure that I connect well with my followers and that my true style sense shines through in my posts. 🙂

Has it been a smooth road?

There’s always bad and good news in my story. It’s hard to be noticed by brands  when you are starting out and unfortunately, early one they didn’t accept me for collaborations. So, instead of giving up and being disheartened I really did my research and came up with creative ideas on how to post better content and be noticed by brands.

My advice is to love what you are doing and do some research too. All the answers are out there and you just have to keep on learning. (that’s what I did). If you cant find the answer trial and error is good too, you will soon figure out what works and what doesnt.  If I had a question I searched it also on YouTube which is very helpful sometimes. Also, try to connect with other people who do the same thing you do. e.g. fashion blogger.

Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I am a fashion blogger and influencer on Instagram. I use it to promote ads and collaborate with brands. Part of my specialty is showing photos of my lifestyle, such as hiking, going to the beach, my breakfast, my workout, meeting with friends and just a regular day out.

I am proud of the length of time being an influencer. I started about a year ago, and last July, I already had a project with Hannah Simone a.k.a. CECE from New Girl Show and this was in partnership with Smarty Pants. I interviewed her and it was also shown on Facebook live.

I have also been invited to a private event, with Honey punch clothing and together with Bloggers who Brunch LA.

What has set me apart from others, is that I know I am me. I am being real. And more real each day.

Often it feels as if the media, by and large, is only focused on the obstacles faced by women, but we feel it’s important to also look for the opportunities. In your view, are there opportunities that you see that women are particularly well positioned for?

I think that there is no particular position for women. I believe women can do anything and everything, it just depends on the person. If we put our hearts and souls into it and bring passion and drive into our work I believe that women can take any obstacle and make it an opportunity.
