Today we’d like to introduce you to Serena Foster.
Serena, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Music has been my passion since I was a four-year-old girl. I have been through a lot of things in my life, but everything has always brought me closer to my music and my passion for performing. I admire a lot of woman in this music industry because of their strength and courage. Since I was very young, I have always given it my all to embody that same strength and courage through my art and music.
I love writing music and creating music videos. There are so many things you have to do as an independent artist, to make yourself reputable these days. You have to create your own path in this music industry, but I love what I have created so far. I am not your typical artist, I give 100% authenticity on stage. With me, there is no faking my feelings. If I am happy I will smile – and if I am sad I will cry. When you come to my shows, you will see the real me, I can promise you that.
My fans mean the world to me. They are a huge reason why I do all of this. Every song I write, every outfit I put together, every theme I use, is always considered for my fans and what they need. What message would they appreciate? What lyric do they want to hear today? I love my fans so so so much and we have a relationship that is just so special.
Has it been a smooth road?
There are always bumps in the road. Of course, I have been through some very hard challenges in this music industry. I have had a lot of ups and downs but through every one of them, I have come out on top no matter what.
You have to surround yourself with this music business with people that you can trust. I say trust because you never know what might happen when you leave the room, who might write your name out of a song, or who might stab you in the back later down the road. Quite honestly, I have now at this point in my career, only surrounded myself with the best and most trustworthy people. I am very blessed to be where I am today.
Always do your research and always, when you can, get your friends and family involved in your career. I can’t stress that enough. It makes such a difference to have someone you trust dearly to be able to turn to when you need help.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Serena Foster – Recording Artist / Performer / Songwriter – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I am an artist, so my day to day is honestly 80% creating and writing. I am constantly writing new music and working with producers out here in Hollywood.
I am a very visual artist, so if you know my work, you know I usually have very specific images that come along with my music. I like to create different themes that surround a song. I have a lot of fun sharing new things and images with my fans on social media.
I am very proud of who I am and if you follow me and my music, you will easily be able to see that through my work. I really do keep it real.
Who have you been inspired by?
I love so many women and am blessed to have an amazing mother who is my best friend and personal assistant when it comes to creating things along the way.
Also, a huge catalyst in my career is Lady Gaga. When I saw her VMA performance back in 2008, I knew I wanted to be a real and raw performer, just like her. I have been to seven of her concerts and I was more and more inspired after each one.
