Today we’d like to introduce you to Marion .
Marion, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I’ve been passionate about Los Angeles since I was a teenager and my dream was to one day live in LA.
I used to live in NYC for few months in 2014 but unfortunately, I had to go back to France, but I knew I had to come back in the USA because for me this chapter was not done.
So, a few months later, I left as a tourist for 3 months and finally, life/destiny made then I never went back to France.
I spent a year and a half in NY but I didn’t feel like it was where I was supposed to be. Life is really hard there in my opinion. I didn’t find any job in fashion but I felt like I had to move to LA. So, in January 2017, I left New York to go to California. I rent an Airbnb for 3 weeks and did everything to find a job and an apartment. And here we go! I knew it was the good move for me.
Has it been a smooth road?
It was definitely not a smooth road and even if it is little more right now when you are not a US Citizen, you know nothing is 100% sure.
I have a green card but to get to this point, it was a real battle. In my personal life like from an administration point. But here I am today and for once, I can say that I proud of my self especially because I did everything by myself.
So, my advice for people is nothing original, but never give up on your dreams. Even when it seems too hard or over, stay focus on your goals and believe in you no matter what. But most importantly, don’t let anybody get a negative influence on you. Stay surrounded by real friends. Do what you have to do until you achieve it so you will never have any regret.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with PadThai Mami – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I’m a stylist and art director.
Right now, I’m working for a man’s brand. I create all the looks and concepts for the photoshoot. I really love men’s fashion. I think it’s exciting because it’s little more limited than women. And as a woman, I like wearing men’s clothes.
So, I will say that I more passionate about the clothes themselves and sneakers than fashion.
When I style myself or someone, I don’t follow the trends even if we all get influenced by what we see on socials media, I create looks that I feel strong more than because it’s trendy.
I never really realized that until some friends told me, but I don’t wear the same outfit twice and I love to challenge myself every morning by creating a new silhouette.
