Today we’d like to introduce you to Irena Tea.
Irena, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I have been traveling for years for vacation when I realized to others it is a privilege and far-fetched for themselves. Just the idea to travel in any style and budget is a luxury, the kind of things people save for retirement because they feel that don’t deserve it now. So Cali Travel Chic blog was born to share a corner of my life, local and abroad, guiding them through stylish places with captivating photos, reviews, and tips. Pictures evoke emotions and inspire them to get faster to their dreams. The name of my blog kinda describe myself, a chic wanderlust from California but the purpose speaks on behalf of many others who are afraid to pursue their hidden desire and a lifestyle they wish to live. So I’m hoping my platform will uncover them. I want to tell people travel is possible and show them that you can give yourself your own privilege even you were not born with a silver spoon.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I was terrified to travel to foreign country. It is outside of my comfort zone and where do I get the money to travel was a big unanswered question and a hindrance to act on it. Not just me but with anyone can relate we are afraid to face money for some odd reason.
Anyhow, I finally went to Europe with my siblings. I will always cherish my experience, good or bad because I learned from it. I have to admit it was poorly planned and not the most pleasant experience. I didn’t know what to expect but set very high expectations, a setup for disappointment. But I was determined to give Europe a second try. I was more prepared and research adequately and the second trip changed my life forever. The more you do something, the better you become. The desperate you are, the faster you come up with solutions.
I’m blessed to say that we live in a society where there is opportunities for anyone seeking. The tricky question is how badly you want it. I have found the answer to my money question. And that you don’t need to be filthy rich to travel. Traveling more does not make me poorer, traveling less does not make me richer. I opt for traveling more.
My advice for young girl is your dream is on the other side of fear. Never say no to yourself. Keep learning and focus on personal development, paying for a course, buying a book, reading useful article online for free etc. You can never have too much knowledge and put it into practice. To get closer to where you want to be, it starts with fundamentals and a strong foundations. The skills and inquisition you develop will naturally take you to great place before you even know it. Because you will discover your answer.
