Life and Work with Eira Scheper

Today we’d like to introduce you to Eira Scheper.

Eira, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started out with yoga, a little over 2 years ago when I was feeling pretty lost in life. I had no clue on where my life was headed, I just knew college wasn’t what I expected and having a lot of issues with my family it was hard to go through everything and find a clear answer. Then yoga happened! At first, it was just a way for me to stretch and work out but the more time went by, the more the time on my mat, felt like coming home to me and hearing the voice inside, in a clear and loud way. I started practicing more and more until it became a lifestyle. It encouraged me to go to therapy to resolve the issues I had with myself like low self esteem and with my parents (domestic abuse). I learned how to become independent and strong and at some point, realized I wanted everyone to feel the same as me. It made me let go of my fear of doing stuff alone, so I started traveling on my own. Two years later, here I am, moved to LA alone from Barcelona and just finished yoga teacher training to bring yoga to as many as I can!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Oh hell, it hasn’t been easy, but what would be the fun in it if it was? My parents were never (and still aren’t) supportive. Me growing as a person, lead me to losing my 3-year relationship with my now ex because he was scared of my independence. A big struggle has been losing people along the way and learning to be okay with it and that, not everyone is supposed to be in your life and stay.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Eira Scheper – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I am a yoga teacher and travel blogger who wants to share the yoga message with as many people as possible, in a way that young people can understand the message and don’t get turned away by the spiritual side of it.

Who have you been inspired by?
Jessica Olie is the reason I started yoga altogether and she is a constant inspiration for how she shares herself in a vulnerable way. Jen Sincero changed my life with her book, ‘You are a Badass’ and Brene Brown taught me the strength in vulnerability.
