Life & Work with Courtney Virden

Today we’d like to introduce you to Courtney Virden.

Hi Courtney, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I never dreamed of being a trainer and in my early twenties was not happy in corporate America so started training until I could figure out what to do next. Then I began to learn about fascia and corrective exercises and applied what I learned to myself. It healed my body’s ailments and looked and felt better than ever and so much quicker than I could have imagined. My clients were experiencing the same thing and I stuck with it.

Then I had two back-to-back pregnancies, gaining over 70 and 60 pounds with each, and delivered very large babies. This all left my body feeling depleted and horrible. My self-confidence was at an all-time low. Having many signs of pelvic floor dysfunction including incontinence, lower back pain, and more issues led me to dive into learning all about a women’s pelvic floor. I began to learn and develop exercises to build programs that led me to eliminate all of my issues, improve my mommy posture, giving me self-confidence and feeling, and looking better than I had. Fast-forward to some big life changes and opportunities, I knew I was ready to make my programs accessible to women everywhere. I built my own website, wrote my own e-book, and put together all of the programs and workouts that are now available on my website. I also have filmed for some tv shows, work with celebrities, and write for Kourtney Kardashian’s site Poosh. I still see clientele privately, both male and female, but am able to help people all over the world with my online programs. I am working on further expanding my offerings to help more people and have several other businesses I run.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has definitely not been a smooth road for me. Having my babies was very challenging for me mentally, emotionally, and physically. Being a mom has been my biggest blessing however finding time to work as a full-time mom was difficult at the time because I was struggling to prioritize myself. A few years ago, I went through a very messy and lengthy divorce and went from working very part-time to rebuilding my career and feeling like I was almost starting from scratch. It was exhausting but I was determined. I had to rebuild my business and started my online business from scratch with very little help or finances to do it with. I am grateful for the challenges in my journey because they gave me strength and have taught me so much. Now as a single mom running multiple businesses, I look back and am so proud of where I came from and what I have done.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in pelvic floor and body movement/alignment. Women who have pelvic floor dysfunction utilize my online programs (especially my Go-To) to reduce/eliminate their issues and help them feel strong and healed. A women’s pelvic floor should not be tight, it should be strong, toned, and responsive. I have so many who use my online programs who don’t have pelvic floor issues as well. My pelvic floor programs benefit all women (even men, I just don’t market it to them) not just women who have had babies. The programs help get your body working efficiently and functioning at an optimal level so your feet, core (the pelvic floor is a part of it!), shoulder, and entire body are strong and resilient. So if you want to reduce/eliminate pain or issues, feel stronger or more connected to your body, or look and feel your best the programs are for you!

I am definitely known for my pelvic floor work and helping women to feel confident, strong, and beautiful. I am so happy to be able to work with women from around the world and help them live their best life. All women deserve to feel incredible and being able to help them with their journey is so rewarding.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
Be yourself and believe in yourself. When I listened to others and not God and my passions it would steer me in the wrong direction. With social media, I think it can be all too easy for people to try to be who someone thinks others want them to be but I really believe people connect with you the most when you are real and authentic. That is when you will connect with the right people and flourish in whatever you want to do.
