Life and Work with Cindy Sanchez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cindy Sanchez.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
It all started about two years ago, when anxiety took over my life, better yet, let me rephrase that when I let anxiety take over my life. I was 18 living my life to the fullest, traveling with my boyfriend, going to college and working as a normal 18-year-old. When slowing my anxiety returns into my life, I quit college and my part-time job. After one year of staying inside my house like a prisoner, I got help and as of today I don’t declare anxiety as part of my life, that’s when my company comes into place. On June 2nd, 2019 around 10 pm, I started the journey to becoming a strong boss woman by realizing that I lost two whole years of my life to mental illness, that’s when I told myself, “it’s time to make something of myself.” That night when I was talking to my boyfriend Angel, I told him the vision I had and as a super supportive partner, we both began to create my company’s name, creating my website and getting my seller’s permit. That very next day, we woke up finished getting my business registered and went shopping for clothing to sell. Every day, we would go online fixing the website and making it as perfect to our ability. By June 10th, the company CNA REPUBLIC was officially an online clothing store. At the end of the day, I knew what I wanted and I did not hesitate to double think my dream, I just got up and went for it because I had already spent enough time in bed not doing anything for myself. Building a brand from scratch, having no knowledge about business, all on our own was a challenge but not impossible. My vision for my company is to represent myself, clothing is what makes a person unique its a way of expressing one’s own emotions.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has not been a smooth road, from having people tell me that I am incapable to build a business or become someone can be very heartbreaking especially that person being family, but also not being financially stable has made the road to success more challenging. Being 20 years old with no job and starting a business from the bottom takes up a lot of time and money. I knew I could have asked my supporting parents for money or help me with a loan but they have done enough for me, so my boyfriend and I collected our saving together and took off from there, we have struggled to pay bills and living check to check, but at the end of the day, every penny will be worth the struggle. An advise I would give young women who have big dreams as well is that there will always be people who will try to push you down. They will try to make you feel like you are incapable to building a brand at such a young age or even because we are “women” which is very disappointing, but instead of letting those comments get through you, use them in your advantage to approve them wrong and show them how powerful a women can be and that age does not matter as long as you have a dream and are willing to go all the way to make those dream become true.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with CNA Republic – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
CNA REPUBLIC is a clothing store that provides for women, men and curvy women. We try to provide lasted trending clothing at an affordable price. I am very proud of my company for being diverse, in every aspect. Being able to provide for different sizes for women makes us proud because we believe that any size is beautiful as long as you believe it.

There’s a wealth of academic research that suggests that a lack of mentors and networking opportunities for women has materially affected the number of women in leadership roles. Smart organizations and industry leaders are working to change this, but in the meantime, do you have any advice for finding a mentor and building a network?
If you have the ability to find a mentor or any help at all use it in your advantage. There is nothing wrong with asking for help, it does not make you any less powerful. I was lucky to find a good friend Tori, who has helped me so much on social media, teaching me how to catch the attention of influencers to collaborate with CNA REPUBLIC and helping me grow online. She has given me ideas for the next photoshoots and how to make better content. Any help is a big help for a growing company because someone can have a great idea that you may have never thought about.
