Inspiring Conversations with Tess Zebrowski of Evertess Jewelry

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tess Zebrowski.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I have been passionate about the fashion/accessory industry from a young age and always knew it was an avenue I wanted to explore for a career. I attended San Francisco State University and graduated with a degree in marketing in 2019 thinking I wanted to go into the marketing side of the fashion industry. I actually went into media planning and strategy at media agencies in Los Angeles, which has been a great learning experience but not what I’m truly passionate about. I quickly realized that my passion was in creating after falling in love with sketching and designing jewelry.

The idea of starting my own jewelry brand sparked from my love of jewelry that had a special meaning or memory behind it. My mother had gifted me a gold chain necklace which was passed down to her from her mother. I loved that the necklace meant more to me than just a fashion accessory, it was a piece of “history” in my family. Every time someone would compliment the necklace, I could share the meaningful backstory behind it. So I created Evertess Jewelry to design jewelry to live through our special moments in life and hold stories of their own.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There will always be bumps in the road when starting a business. For me, I was sure that starting my own business was what I wanted to do. I knew it was going to be hard work but I guess I didn’t expect how overwhelming it would be to run an entire business by myself at 23 years old. There are days where I feel defeated or lost with what to do with my brand while still working full-time at a media agency. But my love for my brand and jewelry design is always what keeps me going because I know this is what I want to do.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Evertess Jewelry?
Evertess Jewelry specializes in both everyday jewelry like dainty pendant necklaces and stud earrings to more statement pieces like chunky chain necklaces and bold rings. I wanted to create pieces for everyday wearability to be able to last through all of our best memories while also having unique designs to have pieces that fit with every woman’s style.

For the jewelry to be long-lasting, it was important to me to use quality base materials, such as sterling silver. That way, the pieces will last and also be safe for sensitive skin. Each piece is also handcrafted and ethically manufactured while still keeping prices affordable to be more accessible.

The brand currently offers necklaces, earrings and rings in sizes 6, 7, and 8. The new collection launching this fall will also include bracelets and the ring size range will expand to 5-9.

Evertess Jewelry also embodies all things California because I was born and raised here. The brand represents the golden hills and cliffs of Northern CA and the golden beaches and summer tans of Southern CA, which is why the brand currently only carries gold jewelry. All of the pieces are named after cities/towns in CA as a small tribute to some of my favorite places.

I am most proud of the meaning behind my brand and my drive to make it everything I had envisioned. The most rewarding feeling is seeing photos of women wearing my designs and how glowing they look. It inspires me every day to continue to design and create.

What does success mean to you?
To me, success is overcoming fear and learning something new each day. Fear of failing is the most detrimental thing to our dreams and I think the realization that you will never know everything and will always be learning is the best way to overcome that fear.
