Inspiring Conversations with Love Rainey of Balance with Love

Today we’d like to introduce you to Love Rainey.

Hi Love, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Growing up, I had the blessing of observing grandmother (my shero ) practice self-love and balance. She had a huge impact on the work that I do today. My grandmother was devoted to her practice. She created a rich life full of love, care for her family, daily discipline in religious and spiritual practice, healthy eating, physical and mental exercise, reading, reflection and journaling.

I witnessed a full life of integration, dedication and balance.

My grandmother knew the importance of a healthy balanced lifestyle before it was popular. She was my first role model on health as she stressed the importance of prayer, positive thinking, hydration, mindful eating, exercise, the power of having an open mind and heart, and remaining a lifelong student.

Our long walks together served as an opportunity to breathe, pause, appreciate nature and pour back into yourself.

I had no idea that the seed my grandmother planted would blossom into a love of basketball and eventually into my life’s work as a Wellness Practitioner and Healer.

My grandmother saw my drive and endless energy as strengths. She encouraged me to find healthy outlets to express myself. It was from there that I grew to love sports; basketball in particular. I focused my energy and dedicated myself to becoming an elite athlete.

Sports saved my life in more ways than one. After playing D1 basketball in the best conference at the time, I decided to support others on their fitness journey. I became a personal trainer, however I realized that my beliefs did not align with the industry. I saw so many people pushing products and focusing solely on image and weight loss. I wanted to support people with a long-term solution, one that addressed all facets of their life just like I had seen my grandmother do. I developed Balance with Love, a health and wellness company focused on showing people how to sustain a healthy, holistic, balanced lifestyle that provides the tools needed to become successful on their specific journey.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The journey to creating Balance with Love was paved with a road of several challenges. As I shared, my grandmother was my first role and additionally, a lot of the tools and discussions I have with my clients were born out of my own pain and mental health struggles. I connect easily with my clients because I know what it is like to not feel your best.

Every time I experienced depression, sadness, disappointment or anger, I returned to my mantra- “move a muscle, change a feeling”. It is then I am able to ground myself through prayer, spiritual work, healthy eating, and exercise. No matter where I am or what happens, I know I can return to the center simply by utilizing those vital tools that bring balance to my life.

When building my company, I knew that balance had to be the foundation. I am passionate about the work I do with my clients. We do so much more than losing weight or looking for a quick fix. We work together to create a personalized wellness plan that addresses all facets of life. In this way, we create life-long habits that in-turn create life-long tools that can be utilized when needed.

I have had to continually challenge people’s ideas of what it means to be healthy. For so long, the general idea around health were fad diets, supplements, and quick fixes. However, life is a marathon, not a sprint. There is no quick fix for your health and finding balance. We will forever face challenges in this game called Life but I encourage my clients to join me on this journey at a pace that works for them, carving their own path to balance with love.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Balance with Love?
Balance with Love is a wellness company focused on supporting individuals by helping them find balance through different modalities such as breathwork, meditation, spiritual coaching, and physical activity. It is my philosophy that when you can move a muscle, you change a feeling.

I specialize in meeting the client right where they are and providing skills necessary to achieve their specific goals. We use a variation of exercises to get them to a space where they feel balanced, grounded, and strong so that whatever comes their way, they’re able to make informed and conscious decisions that reflect on the work we’ve done together.

I am proud of our commitment to our diverse group of clients, our attention to detail, our progress tracking, and our exceptional customer service. I enjoy not only serving as a coach but also being a partner to my clients’ journey. To discover new ways to exist together, be consistent, and demonstrate integrity are the sources of our pride.

At Balance with Love, I am bringing healing to the streets. We create and facilitate physical training sessions, retreats, sound baths, yoga and meditation that resonate with people of all ages, races and creeds. We are creating spaces that are accessible to everyone who has an open mind and is searching for balance. It may not look like what you are used to but we are creating spaces that foster healing, learning and remind people that we can begin again- over and over.

I believe there is healing in community. I enjoy collaborating with people and organizations that are ready to turn wellness on its head. Balance with Love is making wellness accessible for all folx- those who are ready to find healing and balance right where they are.
