Inspiring Conversations with Jamecia Nicole of Pomp & Grandeur

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jamecia Nicole.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Having a clothing store has always been a dream of mine. More so, designing clothes. I remember being in elementary school drawing out dresses and bathing suits during class, promising to one day wear them. Over the years, I’ve become what people like to describe me as, an “Overdresser”. I’m proud of that, lol! People always took a liking to what I was wearing or how I could put an outfit together. ” Getting dressed ” has always been my thing. I love putting a complete look together in my head, I mean from head to toe and then seeing it come to life. My Absolute Favorite Thing!! I don’t even have to go anywhere, lol. The art of ” getting dressed ” and doing it well, my forever thing, haha! I’ve styled tons of friends & relatives throughout their life milestones & opening a store was always on the forefront of my mind. I’ve held many different types of jobs, none of which would bring me any closer to my dream. Discouraged by the immense amount of online boutiques & clothing lines, I continued to shy away from what brings me so much joy. Clothes! The pandemic hit, losing so many loved ones & having to be home for such an extended period of time, I decided to not be scared anymore. I began looking into what I needed to have in place to just do it! Starting off with high-quality wholesale women’s clothing to starting my first original product to be launched in November. It’s been challenging and rewarding & I’m always trying to gain all the knowledge I can regarding it. I officially opened Pomp & Grandeur in April 2021, but the plan has been in my heart since a small child.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I don’t even know what a smooth road looks like! HAHA! Sounds good, lol. No, it’s been pretty nice! I’m fresh in, but I have no real complaints. Clothes been on point, and the support has been amazing!! I just try to remember, while always planning and setting things up for the future, to take it one day at a time. I’m looking forward to some great things with P & G.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Pomp & Grandeur?
Pomp & Grandeur is the beginning of a lifelong dream, I’m just now sticking my toes in the water! I’m ever learning and growing in the process. You should know that I’m working hard to always bring top-tier quality to your closet! I take getting dressed very seriously & promise to always make it an experience!
