Inspiring Conversations with Cedrick Alexander of CEDFit LA

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cedrick Alexander.

Hi Cedrick, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey to LA started from a young age. My parents put me in a karate class to learn discipline and self-defense and though I hated it, it ignited in me a belief in myself.

That self-belief led me to moving across the country from Atlanta to Thousand Oaks, where I spent a summer helping kids get in the best shape of their lives and develop healthy lifestyle habits.

This development created my business CEDFit LA that I have owned and operated for the last 4 years, where I have been blessed to be a part of people’s fitness journey, helping people get in the best shape of their lives through the principles of boxing.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My road in LA has definitely had its bumps along the way.

I spent many times wondering if I could cover rent and where’d I get my next meal.

I worked in many gyms where I was a part of the working poor, barely making enough to support myself.

I had health issues, a furry family death and many other obstacles that have made the journey challenging but all that more worthwhile.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I own and operate a black-owned boxing and fitness business in LA and have done so for the past four years.

This business has helped many people get in the best mental and physical space of their lives and has given me a greater appreciation for the responsibility I have as a coach, trainer and leader.

I specialize in changing lives, boxing fitness and engaging with people.

I am most proud of my brand that I’ve had clients that I’ve trained for almost a decade now and seeing their growth.

Supporters should know that boxing is a great way to get in the best shape of their lives and not only pushes you physically but mentally. It is a discipline where you’re always growing. I recommend everyone give it a try. It’s great for stress relief, self-defense, cardio, stamina and will help you break of the monotony of your fitness journey.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Music and time spent with my family make me happy. They touch my spirit in a way nothing else can.
